I didn’t say I didn’t take the medicine because of Joe, I was commenting on his effect on the perception of the medication. You're more of an "experimental" guy
I didn’t take it because I never got Covid

Yeah-the horse dewormer thing never gained traction till that one episode. Do I think it was a viable treatment? Hell yeah. Last time we got the rona I bought some. Liquid....straight out the mini fridge at the farm store. For my wife and myself-seemed to have the same effect as the antigen treatment the first time we had covid. Then my buddies elderly parents got it. I gave it to him and he treated them with it and they never developed any serious symptoms. I do think that some people are just resistant to it as well.I mean you can stand up for Joe all you want, but it’s pretty tough to ignore, in a discussion about ivermectin, the media and social response (I.e getting canceled) to him.
Most people heard about ivermectin first because of the whole thing, so it certainly influenced their perception on it.
I honestly don’t know much about the stuff. I don’t know anyone personally who has taken it, but I also can’t say I’ve heard anything bad about people who have taken it either.Yeah-the horse dewormer thing never gained traction till that one episode. It was designed for humans but is used on animals here mainly because we don't have a lot of the bugs that it's used to treat versus a 3rd world country. I assume that anyway....lol...I honestly don’t know much about the stuff. There are a lot of popular things that became popular for things different than what they were designed for, so it doesn’t really bother me that it’s intended use was as a horse de-wormer
From what I’ve gathered it has been cleared for human use since the 80s, but as a treatment for parasites. I guess it’s a popular lotion for lice too.It was designed for humans but is used on animals here mainly because we don't have a lot of the bugs that it's used to treat versus a 3rd world country. nah bro-dosage is based on body weight. It's pretty harmless from what I've been told. Like anything you can poison or overdose yourself. Regular antibiotics are otc for animals. Never saw a southern states when I lived in NE but I'm sure you have tractor supply or farm and fleet. Should be able to get them there. From what I’ve gathered it has been cleared for human use since the 80s, but as a treatment for parasites. I guess it’s a popular lotion for lice too.
But the way I see it, the fact that it’s available otc for horses is pretty scary because even though humans can take it, it’s certainly not meant for “self medicating”. It is potentially very toxic, and panicking taking horse doses is not a good thing

? you’re kind of an idiotintended use was as a horse de-wormer

Show me where it was not originally intended for horses, and I will happily step away from the convo. Yes it’s been cleared for humans since, but it hit the market for horses first? you’re kind of an idiot
Show me where it was. While the first application may have been in horses, that is different from the “Intentions” of it’s discoverers.Show me where it was not originally intended for horses, and I will happily step away from the convo. It was introduced in 1971 as a dewormer, then approved for human use 15 YEARS LATER as a prescribed parasite treatment.Show me where it was. While the first application may have been in horses, that is different from the “Intentions” of it’s discoverers.
Again, show me the "Intentions" of the discovers. You seem to be saying they were looking to create a new horse-deworming agent. It was introduced in 1971 as a dewormer, then approved for human use 15 YEARS LATER as a prescribed parasite treatment.

Show me and "I'll move on."it was originally meant for farm animals (which it was).
