I love Devin....but didn't care for the tone at the end....I like his recto and budda tones.

I like how he said it took him a year to get it to where he liked it....and will probably take another year with the AxeII.

I love much of Devin's work and have the utmost respect for him as a master musician.
That said I never thought he had a particularly good tone. Sometimes average at best and others, very digital and fake sounding at worst.
So his endorsement of the AxeFx doesn't mean anything to me.

I'd propose that when you are layering that much stuff, and EQing it to death to make it mix, it's not very likely any of us have much idea what his actual tone sounds like. lol. That being said, I downloaded his AxeFX II patch and checked it out, so much gain it's insane.

And waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much 'verb and delay. It's too thick. But hey, that's his sonic-slab approach to making his style of music, right? As I always like to point out when us RT'ers get our panties in a knot - he's selling a lot of records/CDs....most of us armchair cynics - are not.

I am immune to the flames about to follow, men
