Good guitar player. He was extremely fortunate to hook up with Billy Idol.

No one here has their nails polished unless they are hanging downtown and usually those guys are wearing short miniskirts and their balls are hanging outpsychodave":25bozlw7 said:Evidently it matters enough to him to wear it. I'm not sure why what he chooses to wear on is finger nails matters enough to even mention.![]()
Why did you fail to comment to the person who mentioned teasing up his hair? ...or are you only selective toward me?![]()

WOW!!! Ive had the good fortune to meet and hang out with Steve on multiple occaisions and youd be hard pressed to find a nicer, more humble and accessable guy than him. The guy would practically go out of his way to help you when it came to playing and gear tips.
The first time I met him was here in NYC in the street one day back in the 80's. I walked up, introduced myself and told him how much I loved his playing and asked him some questions about Rack delays and he just hung out and gave me all kinds of advice and ended up taking a pic with me. I was blown away at how cool and down to earth he was to a total stranger. He was wearing this baby blue patent leather out fit with high heeled boots with his hair teased about a foot and half off of his head with sun glasses, Total 80's rock star garb but none of the attitude.
Since then, Ive run into him numerous times at NAMM and I always end up talking with him for awhile. Could be a NY thing as he is a native Brooklynite. Either way, It was always cool to find out that one of my favorite all time players is such a nice guy..

Could have been a bad day, idk??? He was walking toward the steps in the back and the kid (probably 13-14) asked for his autograph...he just looked down and said "F#ck off". Maybe the kid had been bugging him earlier...hard to tell.Mark Day":3gsk4cnd said:Gainzilla":3gsk4cnd said:rupe":3gsk4cnd said:Great player no doubt. +1
I met Steve at NAMM last year. His gig with Pete Thorn at Tone Merchants was incredible. He has so much feel and intensity. He was very humble and approachable. He took the time to talk to me and said some very kind things. A really nice guy!

Nope nothing personal towards you at all and I didn't see the teasing hair comment. I just don't get why it matters how he chooses to dress. I'm from a very rural area and no one walks around dressed like that but I'm sure in LA where he is from it probably isnt that much out of the norm to see people dressing differently. Again it really shouldn't matter.![]()

Agreed!Heritage Softail":2pxt8lcm said:Whatever the deal was back in the Idol days, that music had a new voice and a hot gunslinger guitar player with a cool new approach to the instrument. It was a case of 1 + 1 = 3 with them. It is an identifiable style that has lasted. My daughter heard Eyes and instantly though it was badass... When generations of listeners think something is cool, that is past trendy and into classic.
