Never saw this one before

The LAST thing on DLR's mind is singing...It's all about the show.
Cool vid!

I swore I saw that posted on VHND but maybe not. Thanks for sharing.

Serious question. How is Eddie engaging his flanger on the opening? Behind stage guy? Or is his pedal/effect designed to auto cut like that? I think we addressed this some time ago but don't remember final consensus.

I got that on VHS in 1985 . You could send away for free bootleg catalogs in the classifieds section of Circus magazine back in the day. Take my word they were a lot better on the Fair Warning tour

This one has been around for a while also , might be new to some

Another one that's been around a long time but never with this upgraded quality . They had to use some still shots on this one to make up for where there is no footage but it`s well worth a watch .

Easy fellas....i'm getting shivers

[actually jumped on YT with the big screen/sound to take some of this in]

Yep. That was the tour where he really started phoning it in. Think what VH would sound like without Michael Anthony. And what is all his fanboism with Canada

He said they (in Montreal) make Texas look like Afghanistan :aww:

:26 ish where Eddie is doing Cathedral really points out his control of the guitar. Always liked he could make a guitar sound like a synth and make synth sound like a guitar (as in And The Cradle Will Rock).

:32: ish where Michael does his bass solo reminds me of why he shouldn't do bass solos.

1:00 ish Jump sounds surprisingly good.

PS: you can kind of see how Dave and Eddie are making it happen but still avoiding each other. Love the crowd noise though.

Sadley, I saw this tour when it rolled thru but don't remember any of it.

Looking at his lack of a pedal board, it's definitely being patched in.

By this time he was doing the Bradshaw rack, so it's conceivable that he has four buttons to push, main, phase, flanger, dotted delay, but I don't see him pushing back and forth, like you would expect playing Unchained.

Cheese and CRUST! Thanks for the vids! Have never seen any of these. These guys were just insanely good.

how about the BPM on Unchained... ~~160?
That's how play it when I attempt it. Sounds better faster IMO. Stomping the shit out of my Phase 90

i thought the bradshaw rack didn't show up until the hired spammy?

I don't hear any flanger in this version of Unhcahined , never have . You can see him stomping on a pedal on his board near his mic stand for quieter parts in HFT and he's got a board up near Alexs drums you can see him stomp on what's most likely his phaser towards the end of House Of Pain . Just going by memory he uses his pedal board a decent a lot in this show

He recorded 1984 with the Eventide, which you can really hear that wide chorus/detune on Drop Dead Legs which sounds like 5150. He may not have toured with it, but he certainly had the money to do so.

One of the best openings of any band..Saw many a concert at the old Montreal forum..the crowds were always wild. VH firing on all cylinders ...

I could have sworn there was a flanger at the beginning on this one and I even listened 3 or 4 times first as to not make a fool of myself as I know a lot of them you either can't tell or he's not using it at all. Maybe I'm still the fool or maybe it is my mind playing tricks on me.

But yeah - I saw the two boards too.

This is when they were really on. Witnessed them every tour with DLR. 78/79 kickn ass/ every tour after slowly got worse.

Check out the live `81 and `83 clips of Unhained , he didn't use the flanger on that live until Gary Cherone joined the band . He might’ve have used on the version they did with Sammy in ‘93
