I have to agree ,sometimes you hear a solo and go "why did he pick that note"
Bratta is perfect in every note choice on this Brillant


No more Tears would be at the top of the list too.

Honestly that's what I don't like about that solo. I heard it a few weeks ago and thought, man the phasing is so methodical and moves so smoothly through the chord progression using all the best notes but it sounds like still water. It is so constructed it's boring. Apples and oranges, I can see why people like it.

Steve Vai has said he saves slot#7 for his best tracks on all his cds.

Call it sleep is not pathetic....

The drumming is much more subtle (could be Joey Baron :thumbsup: ), the musicians he was surrounded then were way more subtle, there were nods to Nina Hagen Little Green Man (a girlfriend of Kiedis) a quite unusual singer :D , the production is raw, flaws are there, I enjoyed Eat em and smile (his best sound) because Roth is Way more fun and open/strange than boring Hagar....Vai departed in a direction I do not like....Whitesnake, LA Style, wanking, perfection, corny symphonic work, I am sure he decided to be famous and in front of all magazines all the time, which is perfect....but quite a departure...

Bill Frisell joins John Zorn, Hank Roberts, subtle alternative bands like Earth, Elvis Costello, Petra Haden....much more open, tasty and diverse and my cup of tea.

why making music that attracts red necks (values)? Was even a big problem for cobain (i am not a fan) when stupid morons hugged him.
That is also the fine line/difference between for example Nicklebag,Creed vs Seattle bands....they were definitely not grunge/alternative.
The first Guns and Roses was ok because some punks were involved...same with slayer (DRI Shirt of Lombardo), in most cases that saves music from being stupid...imho.
As you see this has nothing to do with a guitar wanking capability.

Solo starts at 2:33 for those who have the same short attention span that I do.

But it'd be a disservice to sell the entire song on a minutes worth of killer harmonies and technical prowess.

The song/album was/is ahead of its time... and this was from '86.

I dont listen to the Ryche anymore, but when someone asks about killer solos this is the first thing that comes to mind from this child of the 80's.
