Corruption is legal in the US

The people who made that video don't know the basic difference between republic and democracy. Basing policy on public opinion is retarded.
I think you’re missing the point. And the words are largely interchangeable despite that some right-wingers like to argue a distinction.

The only thing that is going to stop it is violence. No amount of bitching on the internet will fix it. No amount of peaceful protests will fix it. They do whatever they want because they own EVERYTHING and they have people so dumbed down, the average fool only cares about baseball, boobs and beer.

I disagree 100%. Self defense is one thing, but violent revolutions inevitably lead to violent regimes. Violence is exactly what the regime wants from you, so they have justification to remove what's left of your rights and privacy. What's needed is a change of hearts and minds and civil disobedience.

Which is what I’m afraid is going to happen.

No truer words have been spoken…

Agreed.

But how do we get there? My fear is that it is too late for Americans and actually the entirety of mankind. Reminds me of a thread idea?

Well, what has changed with the pacifistic approach? Nothing. People don't seem to be bothered by being poisoned by Big food and bent over by HMO's. Taxed to death while the government sends billions to the corrupt Ukraine. I could go on and on. What has voting done to rectify this? Nothing.

This is strictly a personal responsibility. There's enough information available for people to know they should NOT eat processed garbage, to stay off the carbs, and sugar.

You'll still say that when they only sell bugs, soy, and other gmo crap at the store for food.

Non violence worked real well for the canadian truckers. I learned a long time ago that some people only understand the word "no" if it's accompanied by a stiff punch to the nose.

My view is that the empire is crumbling, and those in power are desperate. More and more people are feeling disenfranchised. And the inevitable economic reckoning will make all these issues even more acute. So we already have momentum on our side for reform. It is possible to overturn a political system by passive non-participation. If for example everyone quit voting at some point people will recognize that the whole thing is illegitimate. I don't claim to have all the answers but I maintain that acting in violence is a losing proposition. Too many people are still comfortable with the status quo and will cheer the state's boot on your neck in response. In fact, I think in many ways they're deliberately trying to provoke you. It will give some the excuse they want to further implement a police state. Instead, continue to speak out, point out all the corruption and injustices and let the decay run it's course.
