Sounded pretty good to me. I have to admit I don't know the solo by note, but it sounded right enough.

Sounds pretty good - didn't listen to it with ear goggles on, which I'm sure nbarts DID do (slightly perfectionistic, which is why I think he rocks) but it sounded alright... I woulda liked to hear the guitar more up front though because it sounded really good!!

I listened to it through my monitors and I think it sounds great  Then again I judge on a close enough basis and that was closer than close enough...if that makes any sense.

Found a backing track. Did the guitars. Used an 80's Kramer and the Axe-FX.
I had to fly in the raygun sounds from the CD.

Love to know what you all think of the tone and playing.

Just heard it now. Sounds really good!

The guitar tone is a little bit thinner than the original. But I think the reason why the original sounds fuller is due to the ambient mic'ing- a mix of close-microphones with room microphones a few to 10 feet or so away from the cab/s to add depth. Plus it could be a case of natural stereo 'chorusing' (slight delay on one side post-amp) to give it that wideness which is lacking from your version.
Plus a valve amp has that extra warmth and dimension.

But the source tone itself sounds almost dead-on, excellent for a modelling unit!

Did you really play the 'synth' solo too? On your guitar? Coz that gives me chills down my spine! My favourite part of the song

Hey guys,
Thanks for taking your time to listen and comment!
I had a really good time doing this one, as I love the song.

I didn't do the synth part, that was part of the backing track. I have an Axe-FX standard, it does not have the synth on board.

Sounded good to me...the only thing, and it could be my speakers, was that the guitar was lower in the mix and had some weird reverb or too much reverb going on.

Nice!
The voicing was great for this song...the best part is, you didn't add too much gain, that was just right.
Had your groove on, the rhythm playing was tight.

Sounded great! I liked it and I agree that you had the right amount of gain to it.

Sounds GREAT!

I JUST finished watching the Billy Idol Biography on the BIO channel. I've always loved his stuff. Man I wore that stuff out in the 80's. He was very consistent. You hear it now and it sounds just as good today.
Great pop/rock artist.

Sounds great. I would agree to maybe back off the reverb on the rhythm a little. Other than that your there.

Could be too much verb. I don't know.
