Nice!
The voicing was great for this song...the best part is, you didn't add too much gain, that was just right.
Had your groove on, the rhythm playing was tight.

Duder!
Long time no yak. How ya been? I hope VERY well.
Thanks much. Your opinion is a valued one to be bro!

Gary
I hope you've been well to Gary....I'm very well thank you.

Hey! you are an AxeFX veteran...you were the first person I'd ever heard of owning one of those many years ago.

I honestly believe, with the exception of the Fractal people, I am at least, ONE of the grand ole men of the Axe-FX...lol

Thanks much Mike! What are you up to these days?
I'll tell ya, I LOVE this Axe-FX. It just keeps getting better and better for me at least. It has taken away all my amp gas and leaves me free to want to horde guitars now...lol

I have to ask, sorry if i sound like a douche. Are you even playing on these clips at all? I listened to the original track, the Guitar Hero track, and your track. There's ZERO audible difference between them. The same thing for your Black Label track. And on that track there's simply no way you can 100% mimic the original solo that Zakk did since Zakk Wylde probably can't either. Your Stillborn solo wasn't close to the original, it was the original solo 100%, there's no difference. On the Rebel Yell track the reverb, pick slides, tone, everything is 100% the same as the original track. And i listened to some of your old clips when I'm 100% sure that was you playing, and these clips sound nothing at all like those. You can't escape the tone in your fingers and these clips don't sound like you at all.

Sorry, but i had to ask.

Nope,
Not being a douche at all Danny. It is me playing. Honest to goodness. I worked really hard on these songs. I mean REALLY hard. I don't have guitar hero stuff so I don't know how it works. If you can get tracks from that, I am ignorant of the fact. I can put up the backing with no guitars at all if that will help prove it.

If that won't help, there is nothing I can do bro.

Hello Gary. Long time. Believe it or not I have been a Marshall Vintage Modern player for the better part of the last 3 years. I boost it and most days it does just what I want. Yep still have the Mockingbird Archtop I had built for me in 97. Recently bought an EBMM JP6 BFR that is so nice it's sick. I have a Strat and a Washburn N4 which get's playeda good bit to. Here are some vids I've done of various guitars and amps over he last 2 years or so...

Yes, it has been a long time my friend. I actually really dig the Vintage Modern. I played one with my Katana in front of it as a boost and compressor and it absolutely SLAYED. I like it much better than the 4 channel Marshall that debuted with it.

I listened to your first VM with the EBMJP on it... GREAT PLAYING as well as killer tone. I could gig with that easily. I like how when you turn the boost off with that amp, you can then use the volume of the guitar to really bring it into a cleanish amp. Especially if you have coil splitting or a single coil guitar.

I have been playing a Squier Classic Vibe 60's strat that sounds and plays great to me... I would used to make fun of Squiers, but after cherry picking this one out of about 20 of them, not anymore man!

The new Chineses Squier's are total spleepers...of course you should cherry pick for a really good sounding/playing one, but I would do that with expensive USA strats as well.

Proper setup and a little TLC  I have two of them and dig them very much.

Bro,
You are right on the money. First Strat I have ever owned too! I played so many, I just couldn't bond with them at all. I picked up the 50's and really dug the playability of the guitar, but the pickups were a bit on the brighter side to suit me. Played a bunch of the 60's and ended up with the Candy Apple Rosewood boarded one. The pickups are nice and fat sounding and I can get an AC/DC style crunch out of the bridge if I keep the treble and presence down...

I really dig the guitar!

Gary

Gary, you seem like a nice guy and you've always been cool to me, which makes me even more puzzled why you're not being honest here. I wouldn't be saying this if i didn't have solid proof that this isn't you playing this and i don't want to be the "clip police" but to post something and take credit for it, when it's not your work, it's just wrong to me. And to say that you're using an Axe-Fx when you're not, that's wrong as well.

Posting the backing track doesn't prove anything, but what if i told you i had these guitar tracks without the backing, and they're 100% the same thing that you posted? Of course you can deny whatever you want but anyone with half an ear can tell what i have is the same thing that you posted.

Again, i hate to be the bad guy here, it's just that what you're doing is wrong in my book, sorry.

I was just about to chime in and say it sounded dead nuts perfect...not sure what to think here but if it is you playing nice work! There will be no doubt if you just put up a short video and play the riff. You certainly don't need to prove anything but if what Danny is saying is true, that is just shitty and stupid IMO. End the drama, throw up a vid!

Wow, everything was going so well there for a bit.....

I guess I'll just reserve judgment, sit back and wait for the fireworks..... :checkthisout:

You be the judge. It's 100% the same clip. There's a site where you can download the backing and the guitar tracks.

Danny,
Regardless of what you or anyone thinks, the guitars are my own work.
I don't know of the site that you are talking about, I got my backing track
from an old friend in Australia. Pete, is a fine musician. A pianist. He teaches
in a conservatory there now. He did the backing for me. I don't know what he
used but he sent me the files. I did a submix of the guitars and synth together.

That is the only file I have left to post other than the backing with no guitars or
synth... I have uploaded my guitar and synth track to soundclick. I think it sounds
pretty spot on as a matter of fact. I did the best I could with this track and I think
that I did a really good job of it.

I do feel a bit persecuted here though. I don't harbor grudges, so even after this
is all said and done, no matter what anyone else thinks I did, you are still a good
guy in my book. I know that you are only doing what you think is right to do. Just
in this case you are wrong.

This will be my last words on this in any case.

Gary

Edit, I got the link wrong... Let me fix it.

I have to link to the page, I can't get the direct download link to work for me...
Clip is entitled SoloSynthSubMix
