Regardless of what you or anyone thinks, the guitars are my own work.
I don't know of the site that you are talking about, I got my backing track
from an old friend in Australia. Pete, is a fine musician. A pianist. He teaches
in a conservatory there now. He did the backing for me. I don't know what he
used but he sent me the files. I did a submix of the guitars and synth together.

That is the only file I have left to post other than the backing with no guitars or
synth... I have uploaded my guitar and synth track to soundclick. I think it sounds
pretty spot on as a matter of fact. I did the best I could with this track and I think
that I did a really good job of it.

I do feel a bit persecuted here though. I don't harbor grudges, so even after this
is all said and done, no matter what anyone else thinks I did, you are still a good
guy in my book. I know that you are only doing what you think is right to do. Just
in this case you are wrong.

This will be my last words on this in any case.

I'm sorry man, i just don't get it. The guitar track i posted IS the same clip you posted, it's exactly the same, anyone with an ear can tell that. I know what you sound like when you play and this is not you. If you felt attacked a few years ago by Thumps comments that all your clips sounded the same, well i thought he was being an ass because i liked all your clips that you made in the past and i was a fan of your playing.

I have nothing at all against you, i just don't understang posting stuff that you...IMHO....didn't do.

Let me ask you, did you listen to the track i posted? How could i get your guitar parts alone without the backing and have it 100% identical to your track? And it is 100% identical because i put your track into Sonar and the track i posted and split it L/R . I didn't have to touch anything and they sync up perfectly. Same tone, same exact timing. If it thought i was mistaken i wouldn't have brought any of this up. It's just not the right thing to do, I'm sorry.



Your clip is on the right side here, the one i downloaded from the website is on the left. It's the same clip, i didn't have to touch anything to get it to sync up, how could you possibly deny that this isn't where you got your clips from? Again, I'm sorry and i guess I'm the bad guy here, but i just don't get it.

Wow, this clip sound exactly like the clip in the first post. I think the dead give away is the fly-away harmonic about a 1/3 of the way in. BOTH tracks sound exact... the lead in, the frequency, vibrato and the rhythm overlay...right down to the pick scrape. I am not pointing fingers, only saying what I hear. I am willing to bet Steve Stevens himself couldnt do it exactly again.

I don't mean to dogpile on here. Gary's a nice guy, and a good player.

When he posted the Stillborn track on HC a month or so ago, I was stunned. The solo was SO good I couldn't believe it. I did the same thing you did. I recorded from yootoob, the original track, and lined it up in Sonar with Gary's.

Same deal. Since I was recording through the 'monitor' of my soundcard, the original wasn't a sample accurate 'digital' transfer. Interestingly, when lined up against the posted clip, I got a through-zero FLANGE of the guitar solo. Now, anybody who's done any doubling of a guitar part knows that in practice, it's impossible to get phase cancellation from a double. You only get it when it's the SAME SIGNAL. Players have been doubling solos for decades, and I've never heard that happen before.

I kept my mouth shut. And wondered if anyone else was gonna catch it. I left evidence in the thread, that I was hip to it.

Like I said, Gary's always been nice, and I've heard a zillion of his clips that sound great. I just assumed that that particular thread ran away with him, and he got caught up in the snowball.

I tried to keep on with the lie, but I suck at it. I am not used to doing it,
and I simply suck at it.

I will do my best to explain why and how, although, it doesn't matter. I simply
kept seeing everyone bash the Axe-FX. I know, step back, just a piece of gear
and everybody won't like it like I do. Anyway, I kept seeing the bashing and
decided to try something. My friend Pete (truth here) can extract these things
from some kind of 5.1 thing he has. He did it for me and I was originally going
to do this and expose people that would just bash the Axe saying it couldn't sound as good as a tube amp. Let them hear these duplicate files and then shut them up
with the truth about what they were.

Well it did start to some extent and I let it go in both instances for too long.
I don't know why I didn't tell the truth as soon as it was mentioned. I simply
lied. I have no excuse. I have no reason. I simply didn't do what I should have
done and set out to do.

I do ask for your forgiveness. I was going to simply stop posting, but I can't
let things go like this. I am a professing Christian and I didn't live up to
what I should live up to. I can't run from the lie. I can't hide from it, if
for no other reason than it will give people the wrong impression about my Lord.

I profess to be a Christian, I have to live like one. I made a bad decision in
lying and have to confess to it. I have asked the Lord for forgiveness and myself
for forgiveness. I ask you here for the same. I dont expect it, but hope to recieve it.

I always thought you were a good player and you don't have to post something that's not your's to get credit for good playing. That's what was soo puzzling because i always thought you were a really good player. I'm sorry if it looked like i was on a personal witchhunt but for some reason i couldn't just leave it alone. Good decision to own up. No one here is perfect and no one's opinion on what you like should matter other than yours on what makes you happy! We all get caught up in the gear thing. Forgiveness is easy, not a problem.
I still don't get the underlying motivation to make you do something like this. That's a pretty big attempt at the wool over people's eyes and it makes those that chime in to comment feel like you think we're stupid which is why I was busting your balls. I also think the comment that we'll get the wrong idea about your lord is offensive, your Lord had nothing to do with it, it was all you. Either you're really young or there are some deeper issues you should probably address in your life. Thanks to the guys that exposed this and I hope you get help!

When I first saw this I listened to the clip quickly on my laptop speakers. Sounded damn good. I was going to listen to it again when I got home and good really listen to it. Came home and saw all the banter about the clips. Waited it out.

My advice to Gary. Now go really play these songs and record them and show everyone how close you really can get. Sink your teeth into it. It might help you in your own eyes. Post your results or not but it could be good medicine for you.
