Update. I have it now. It's so small!! Lol! Yeah, it's smaller than I was expecting. That's cool with me though. Just got done playing it for about 30 minutes and it's bad ass. It sounds like I was hoping it would. With all the switches off and both gains at about 3 o'clock it has a very nice crunch that is what I use for about 80% of my tone. A boost takes it further if I want.
It's pretty bright. I'm tuned to drop B with strings that are at least 6 months old and I have to drop the treble to 11 o'clock. The two diode clipping options sound really cool, but I rarely use them on amps that have them. I barely notice the hair switch.
I'm happy with it. But honestly I pretty much dial it in to sound like my VTM. I'm happy that I can get my core tone with it. It's loud enough and the compact size is cool.
Here is a video. I'm running a SM57 in front of a Sheffield 1290 going into a UA Volt 1 and straight into my iPhone. I turn on a SD-1 briefly at about the 2 minute mark.
Same setup but boosting it with my Bion Boost and have a subtle delay and reverb. Put new strings on too.
