What module for Audley's Cry of love tone? I'm using single coil guitars. I was thinking the SL but now I'm thinking the Bman might be in the running. I love that thick bluesy neck tone that he gets with his Strat. I have a VX but it's a little more strident for the COL tone. I believe he used a JMP with 6550's back in the day.

My guess would be the SL B channel for rhythm and a SL2 or SL2x A channel for leads.
Just listened to the live version and he's using Marshall's. Great Tone!

Can ch A of the SL2 get the same kinda rhythm tone as ch B of the SL. I could be wrong but Audley's base tone is not that dirty. It sounds like he's kicking it up with a TS.

After playing through the SL, I'd definitely say, yes, the SL should get you what you are looking for.

FWIW, the SL feels like it has more gain than it actually does, which is very cool, IMO. It has prompted me to clean up my playing a lot.

The Bman is a little too clean, and the SL2 is a little too hairy, at least to get the tone you're after.

Do a Google search for his set up and gear. There's article out there to get you in the right direction.
I read an in depth 1 on 1 article about how he gets his tone.
I remember him saying he uses a certain compressor.....

I not looking to nail it as I'm not Audley. I'm just looking for a module that's in the ballpark for his tone and vibe. To me that's a classic tone that would work for what I do.

He's a hired gun these days. He was working with the Dixie Chics and Peter Frampton. I believe he lives in Nashville and also plays on sessions.

Man, that seems pretty low key for such talent.
I guess he's happier that way, maybe doesn't want to be dedicated to full time touring and stuff.
Anyway, thats some great guitar work on their 2 studio releases.
