Flavor of the week. Everyone jumped on KSR amps, a few liked 'em and kept 'em. The rest are trying to dump them. Happens to every amp.

I would love to try one. But the only way would be to buy one sight unseen. Unless someone wants to trade for one of my Peters...

Dunno man, I still really love mine, and I've had it awhile. Every time I plug in, I'm pretty happy. Sure, there are other amps I'd like to try, but my amp covers so much that I don't yearn for it. The only reason I'd sell it is if I needed money (and I do)...but then, that's why I'm trying to sell my Mark III and not my Gemini. We are tracking guitars soon, I'll throw up some clips when we do.

I just recommended to check one out. I've seen you run through a lot of amps and figured that would be a cool addition.

Everyone says they're amazing and the guy has high quality builds. They have lots of shaping options and bias points and idk I hear them get ultra heavy.

They have a few 7 string clips on their site and Jared Dines has this cool 6 string demo (although a bit over compressed IMO with the gains maxed, I'm sure that's not the only tone) https://youtu.be/C1hn3VwhGnI

I'm pretty sure Killswitch Recorded Loyalty with it as well.

I saw an Orthos sell on Reverb for $1,500 last week and there's a loaded Ares right now for $1,600.

Was going to buy it but I found a Rev. 2 Uber and couldn't pass that up.

Most people haven't heard of them so the handful of guys trying to sell them have a hard time moving them. I've got an Ares and the only way I'd sell it is to move up to a 2 or 3 channel KSR, great amps.

It's just the nature of GAS and it happens with every amp. At any given time there are a bunch of Friedman amps in the classifieds. Certainly not an indication of a lack of quality that "everyone is trying to duff them off". People just get bored easily and move on to the next.

I have a Rhodes Colossus and it's one of the most versatile amps in my collection. This is a pretty good video of what it can do --

I don't think the gear flippers in the classifieds of any forum are an accurate indication of how good that piece of gear is or isn't.

there are a certain group of people who I really don't think even play guitar; they just like to support the shipping companies so they can post new gear threads online. they are too busy patting themselves on the backs and finding that next piece of gear to actually spend time playing guitar.

The name plates change but it's the same as it ever was (imo)

Since you're loving the new BE, what about waiting till some poor slob have to part with the new Butterslax?
Might have some cross over points with the BE, but that's a HIGH gain head, no doubt.

Having said that, the KSR Colossus is one mean son of a bitch
