Well, I'm in Norway, and the mag is Swedish. That's pretty darn international, innit? :D

Knut,
Thanks for the link. That is pretty cool! I see Satriani, George Lynch and Warren DeMartini mentioned in the review. I am going to translate it really quick:

"Curt Anderson, also known as Chubtone on some forums full of gear nerds is the kind of player we have seen routinely ignored, while wheedley wheedling away at the NAMM show since the early 80's. And by the looks of the guy and his rapidly receding hairline, he was probably at those early NAMM shows. This release was recorded in his home studio and sounds like it, featuring lackluster playing, clueless arrangements, brain dead engineering and sounds like it was mixed by Helen Keller. His playing, while deeply influenced by no one worth listening to, features a rhythm tone that is excruciatingly crappy as confirmed by Gainzilla :), a vibrato that sounds like Stevie Nicks singing while strangling a lamb, and a creativity level seldom seen outside the finger-painting class at the local kindergarten. Players like Satriani, George Lynch and Warren DeMartini come to mind when you think of players that can really play their instrument. Please put them out of your mind before listening to this stinker. If we had anything good to say about this Chubtone character it is that for a fat guy, he doesn't sweat much."

All in all, I'd day that it's a pretty accurate review, but I am NOT fat.

:hys: Whatever dude!

Curt Anderson, or Chubtone as he's also called, is a new name you should keep your eyes open for. After spending most of his time playing in his studio, he's pulled himself together and released his own instrumental album. A few years too late, some might think, considering that the shredder-era reached its peak during the 80s. Curt, however, is not your traditional shredder. You find influences from guys like satriani, Lynch and De Martini, but with a touch of his own. He's a melodic shredder with a good feel for melody and with a great tone.

:)

Curt's listening / release party..........

Next time when the invite says 9pm to midnight, you will have to go home at midnight. We could not get Scott to leave. He kept asking where he could find a store specializing in bandanas.

I don't see a single one, and the mag was just trying to please everyone :D They like your stuff.
It's from a spotlight column, like Mike Varney had. I bought it this afternoon, and my wife wondered what the hell was wrong with me when I shouted: "I know this guy!"

I showed it to my wife and tried to explain to her that I was kind of a big deal, she just looked at it and said, "pffft, the grass needs cutting." :D

She probably should have asked where your many leatherbound books are and why your office doesn't smell of rich mahogany...

My office does not smell of rich mahogany because I prefer alder and maple.
