Have a D Tuna that I am struggling with.

When I adjust the set screw to dial in me E string (it is almost always flat), I do not get much movement on my tuner. Before I get to E the screw goes tight and the D Tuna is not really slidable anymore.

Anyone else run tinto this prob?

Did you make sure the fine tuner is backed all the way off when you first tune the string to "D"?

You have to tune to D first, with the fine tuner almost all the way out, you can leave a bit of travel to be able to fine tune after but not to much cause when you pop it in to E, it will be to tight and hard to pull out.

Ok so tune to D, then pop it in to E and adjust the mini set screw to fine tune the E and thats it. Done.

Just make sure like i mentioned that the fine tuner is almost all the way out or else it will never work smoothly.

yes fine tuner on Floyd is out or barely touching when tuned to D.

The issue is when I tune to E the little set screw does not bring up the pitch to E. I am still too flat before I get to E. The little screw goes tight, I'm still flat.

I see, is the D tuna new?

I had a used one that the guy had the fine tuner too tight and used it like that for years and it made a groove in the D tuna itself so it was always a little flat.

Do you have a pic of the installation istself? Is everything setup perfectly? Socket head screw the right lenght, D tuna goes allbthe way in....etc....

Never had a problem with mine, i have about 5 installed and, they are flawless.

Just thought of something, the fine tuner screw HAS to touch the D tuna surface, screw it in at least one full turn.

Try that just in case.

D tuna is not new, came with guitar. There is some scraping looking along the top surface. Like it has been moved in/out while touching the fine tuner on the top surface. D tuna is red so this scraping is easily seen.

thanks for your help so far.

What kinda floyd?

Also remember that you first need to have the fine tuner slightly touching the long bolt, you tune to d with the headstock tuner, then clamp then use the fine tuner to get D in tune, then press the d tuna all the way in and adjust the fine setscrew to E.

Also I noticed on music man axis guitars.. the screw needs to be ground down around the bridge so you can get enough movement to tune to E.

Good instructions on set up.

I've never had trouble with my D-Tuner and EBMM Axis.

On my EVH USA Wolfgang Stealth the D-tuner wouldn't work. The Floyd screw woundn't back out enough and the D-tuna would hit the body when trying to push it in for E. I had to force it past it's stop point. Works great now. Took me a while to figure that out.
