WARNING: PRS SE pickups are garbage, and PRS ADMITS IT. Insane.

Nah man, i've already aged out into the LP and Tele zone.

If i wasn't poor I would 100% own an EBMM strat of some kind, but i'm a musician, not a tan pants hobbyist
We start a band, basically Zach Morris core.

It's not like people buying third world guitars shouldn't expect third world quality. And what do you expect PRS to do? Pretend it's not third world guitar or compensate you for your lack of understanding of what that means?

The have a line for people who like first world guitars.

Prolly some are crappy no doubt especially older one's but the late 2020's Tremonti SE pups are modeled after the Gibson 500T set and scream.
Thats why i put a SH-5 Duncan Custom in mine LOL.

I put the Tremonti SE pup in the bridge of this Ibanez tribute along w/ a DiMarzio EVO II and it screams.
I have another EVO II i can swap in if i wanna.
I know for a fact PRS spends alot of time & resources reverse engineering & winding all kinds of their pickups not just core stuff.
Ive had 2 late 2020's Tremonti SE's that were fabulous with the black pup rings and one older w/ the white pickup rings that was pretty lame.
Not to hijack but cool military stuff on the wall! 🤘

They sound like garbage too. I would have replaced them with some Duncans and threw the G&B's in the trash, stripped or not. They're bloaty, no clarity and sterile. Garbage.

Yeah, faulty parts like that should be replaced by the manufacturer, and it’s inexcusable for PRS to so blatantly try to blow smoke up your ass about the pole pieces.

Imagine if they said “yeah uh the bridge pickup is supposed to be shorted out because we want you to use the other one” or “yeah it’s expected for one or two tuning machines to be cracked and fall off by the time they get to you when you buy it new. That’s just how they were designed.”

I’m surprised you didn’t tell the PRS rep to fuck off. It’s OK to make parts to a price point. It’s not OK to make faulty parts. Besides, if they actually didn’t want the screws to be adjustable, they wouldn’t have used screws, they would’ve used slugs. And if the height didn’t matter, it would stand to reason that the entire screw would not have any impact on the tone, which begs the question “why are they even in the pickup at all?” The answer is that they are in there because they impact the fucking tone, which means the height matters and should be adjustable, because they are screws.

That said, PRS has never really been known for their pickups. If you really like the way the guitar feels, plays, and resonates, might as well take those pickups out and put some in that actually sound good and work right.

So you have more high end PRS guitars than anyone, have had multiple issues with many of them, and are now flabbergasted that their cheap models have issues?

What is the definition of insanity again? 🤔
