WARNING: PRS SE pickups are garbage, and PRS ADMITS IT. Insane.

It's not like people buying third world guitars shouldn't expect third world quality. And what do you expect PRS to do? Pretend it's not third world guitar or compensate you for your lack of understanding of what that means?

The have a line for people who like first world guitars.
Laying it the fuck down!

So you have more high end PRS guitars than anyone, have had multiple issues with many of them, and are now flabbergasted that their cheap models have issues?

What is the definition of insanity again? 🤔
Right? Hahaha. Don’t support PRS then by throwing Paul more money and then go on a forum to bitch about their shitty QC.

I never used clipping diodes on an amp, so it's ok if makers put out that feature and it doesn't work?

Amazing how many people(?) will defend and love shit quality. Guess it keeps some manufacturers in business that people eat shit and ask for seconds.
All goes back to usury banking coming to power over 100 years ago and subsequently contriving to rob the substance and value out of EVERYTHING.

Prolly some are crappy no doubt especially older one's but the late 2020's Tremonti SE pups are modeled after the Gibson 500T set and scream.
Thats why i put a SH-5 Duncan Custom in mine LOL.

I put the Tremonti SE pup in the bridge of this Ibanez tribute along w/ a DiMarzio EVO II and it screams.
I have another EVO II i can swap in if i wanna.
I know for a fact PRS spends alot of time & resources reverse engineering & winding all kinds of their pickups not just core stuff.
Ive had 2 late 2020's Tremonti SE's that were fabulous with the black pup rings and one older w/ the white pickup rings that was pretty lame.
"Ibanez tribute" - Sounds wayyyy better than Chibanez lol I've always called mine my "Fake Jem" - not as creative.

Really fun guitar without haing to worry about beating it up too much.

I should probably take that old thing out of mine and get it back into shape - it was a really nice looking build for what it is.

Thick rosewood slab, nice maple, etc. Hardware was junk but that can be swapped. Inlays looked pretty damn good too - though plasticy as opposed to the real MOP, though it still looks great!

I like the way the pickups look mixed like that on yours - and it recall it looking pretty well done in other posts about it.

The 3 different SE models I have experience with have all needed pickup swaps. I would bet there are one-offs that are pretty sweet tho, like the Tremontis you mentioned. I've always thought those were cool guitars. The MT amps look very cool as well for that matter.

PRS does put a lot of research into pretty much everything - including their pickups. I wonder how much is "lost" in the SE line stock pickups.

My PRS stock McCarty pickups sound great - but I see people online complain about them as well so it doesn't seem to matter much at the end of the day.

Thick RW slab as you said, neck straight as an arrow. Stout but comfy. It has a volute. Basswood body. Nice pieces of lumber. Nary a blemish in the paint anywhere. Thick shell of paint. The Jina FR wasn't horrible but ive replaced the baseplate w/a a Schaller i had.. Trem block replaced w/a German OFR
stock brass one i had not over-sized. Not really needed. Replaced bar w/ OFR push-in style.
teisco-del-ray-et-200-xl.webp

Beats all to hell the Teisco ET-200 i started on in the 70's.
Very resonant, plays nice. I actually thought it was Indo or Japan at first.
Someone went to the trouble of doing good fretwork & paint.

I've heard the argument that adjusting pole pieces on a wax potted pickup can actually fuck up the potting in some way

No idea if there's any validity to that (i never touch the poles personally)

Intentionally stripped is a crazy excuse. totally unacceptable

I like the necks on the the SE ones I’ve played but the pickups have no bite or Strat clank. Headstock is just wrong too. 🤓
SEs: good necks, good bodies but plan on a pickup swap. Mine has Lollar soap bars and I love it.
OP needs to do some research. Or just read his entire thread.
