I found that too. Needed at least a few days.
SS frets didn't help the situation either.
They definitely last longer and retain brightness better.
Unfortunately for me they feel too-stiff.
I never suspected stiffness would vary for same gauge and tuning. Really does though?I absolutely love the stiffness - I have really heavy hands so it works for me ?

Absorootly brother.I never suspected stiffness would vary for same gauge and tuning. Really does though?
Makes sense mate.I absolutely love the stiffness - I have really heavy hands so it works for me ?
Heavier core probably makes the strings a little stiffer.I never suspected stiffness would vary for same gauge and tuning. Really does though?
A friend of mine recommended the NYXLs - he plays 2-3 nights a week and says he loves them because he does not need to change strings between gigs. One set easily lasts 3 nights. He has even gone 2 weeks of shows with near perfect tuning stability.
I really like them. I use non locking trems - both 2-post and 6-screw - and NYXLs hold tune better than any other string I have ever used.
FWIW - 9-42 tuned down 1/2 step.
Some strings do have a larger core to wrap ratio but I’m not certain NYXLs do. However, their cores ARE made of a stronger, denser grade of steel, hence the stiffness. To my ear this results in a stronger fundamental note with fewer harmonics. I kind of liked them on certain guitars but not others.Heavier core probably makes the strings a little stiffer.
I had the exact opposite, at least with a 60 tuned to A#. It was impossible to get it to sound good there were so many distracting harmonics. I don't have this problem with the XL's or Dunlop Performance+.To my ear this results in a stronger fundamental note with fewer harmonics.
