GC here in Tulsa has one of those Egnater half-stacks. Lucky for me they wouldn't match the price (20% off coupon with MF, which they were going to match) and eat the tax (nope)....and it wasn't plugged in so I couldn't check it out...

Instead, I bought an Epiphone Valve Jr. Cab, to go with my re-done Valve Junior I've had sitting in the closet for 6 months...(tweaked AX84 HiOctane circuit)

$150 vs $1850 = win.

I still have the Egnater on order from MF, just the site says "preorder, available 3-17-2008" - why is it whenever I get a new-to-market amp, it seems like everyone else gets theirs before I do? LOL...

You'll love the Egnater, I did. I'm definetely gonna get one, just not sure when yet.

:D

They had a few at my GC when I went today too. That was kinda unexpected :P. I didn't have the time to turn it on :(

I just picked up the 4212 and that thing KILLS so I can only imagine how good the half stacks going to sound. It can everything from amazing cleans to some pretty killer metal sounds. Really covers a lot of ground.

I just tried again to get them to match the price...

best I could get was $1699+tax for the half stack.

I'm getting it for $1650 delivered! Just I have to wait a month =/

Is 8.25% worth waiting for? $150...that'd like $10/day...damnit! LOL

How did you get those 20% coupons?

I had some screwed up orders in August during the move :)

I only got one, I'm just leveraging the shit out of it....

I got a full set of Paiste Sigs from GC at nearly 30% off because of the coupon, and getting them to eat tax.

It's used up now though - because of the Egnater order, and I've already recieved one part of the order - a Planet Waves speaker cable...so if I cancel the order, it only slapped MF for $5 or something...

I would have made them plug it in first, to see if you like it. They're great amps for sure (I tried one at my local GC), but not everyone likes every amp out there...

Very curious to see what you think of the tourmaster when you get it.

What guitar are you using now, BTW?

True, but then I'd want to leave with it even more - lol :)

To be honest, I've not really found an amp that I can say I hate, or really dislike. The Rectifier comes closest, but even then, I've heard many of them sound great.

I'm expecting it to be brighter than my Orange Rockerverb, but darker than the JVM.

I'm an impatient sonofabitch - I could never wait an extra month for $150. And it's not like I even have much money to spare...

Guitar - lol...

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus-Top, with Seymour Duncan SH-59's, and a RS Guitarworks kit. I need to change the nut, but outside of that, it's a pretty cool guitar. Does what I want...though I wired the pots wrong (I get bleed through)...

It's not as nice as my former guitars - but, that's somewhat the point - I sound the same with low-end stuff as I do with high-end stuff - I'm just not that good when it comes to making equipment shine...lol

I bought the matching 1x12 cab for my Valve Junior I rebuilt - and was enjoying that quite a bit. The Spider Valve is cool - but IMO, nothing beats a good tube amp.

That said, I probably should try it out - lol. I'm going off the video for the tone, and that tone is what I want, but there's no substitute for having it blasting your nuts...

I'm impatient as hell too - just I'm also greedy, and I don't have an extra $150 bones laying around. I'm pretty bad about spending everything...

Once the spider valve payment clears through PayPal from Blackba, then sure - BUT, I have "promised" that money to go towards CC debt.

If it's there, I spend it, sadly. That's how I've gotten all the stuff I have now - and now, I'm paying for it in the stress of paying it off. I already clipped one CC to keep me from buying on it - else I would have had a harder time passing up the Eggie sitting right there on the floor...lol...

If you need help rewiring your pots on your LP let me know, I just put new pots on my LP custom and did my LP studio before that....

I've got a 75 or 76 LP Custom sitting in the closet - just too lazy to dig it out :)
