Danelectro Fish and Chips?

There is one plugged in the loop of my buddy's 6505+ right now and it actually kept him from flipping that amp. It did something for that amp that literally 15+ different ODs couldn't.

I just snagged a used Fish n Chips off Ebay yesterday so waiting for it to show up. Yea I got a 6505+ head that was just freshly serviced I might try it in the loop of it but really I got it to try in the loop of my Mesa Tremoverb head instead of using the Maxon od808. For some reason I didn't notice too much of a difference boosting the gain channels of my Tverb with the maxon. I'm also going to try the Fish n Chips in the loop of my Marshall Artist 3203 head as well, see if I can get it into Modern Metal territory, my band is tuned to drop B.

The Fish n Chips I bought sounded great, but failed mechanically. So I'm leery of spending the money again, as little as it is, when I think I could spend a bit more and get something I trust with better reliability.

Yea the one I snagged off Ebay yesterday I'm going to try it out, most likely just use it for home practice, might get another one or get a MXR 6 band EQ pedal..

well the Fish n Chips showed up the other day, hooked it up into the Tverb's effects loop with the send level (pretty sure) knob cranked and the return level about halfway (didn't notice any volume lump on that control but the send level for sure), left every band on EQ centered, turned the pedal on and off and didn't notice any difference in sound or tone? Started playing with the sliders and obviously started noticing a little bit of a sound difference but not anything drastic?

Do you guys have any recommended settings on the amp and eq pedal? I'm gonna try the eq thru the front end of the amp to see if theres any more noticeable difference..

I always run them in front of the amp for a boost...but I've also run them in the loop for a volume lead boost and it's worked well..the only issue is that the on/off button is cheap and doesn't last long if you gig much..so I have 2 lying around just in case lol...

Well tried just the fish n chips in the Marshall Artist fx loop running to the matching 1965a 4x10 cab with my Epiphone and it seemed no matter how I messed with the eq pedal and the boost channel's tone, volume & gain control it sounded all muffled? I'll try it straight thru the front end of the amp and see if that helps

Hmmm..I had an artist 3203 head a few years back and I used one in front mids boosted to tighten AND one in the loop with a delay pedal to boost volume for leads..worked well..Sometimes older Marshall FX loops need line level FX to work best. I've had 3 different Jubilees and 2 of them needed line level stuff to work best, and one didn't..all 3 were black tolex '88s..maybe the one was modded?

Sounds like this is a good sounding pedal, especially for that low price.

Most gear loving geeks frown upon Behringer gear, but this pedal has nearly a 5 star rating.
And the price is only $25, plastic body as well. Reviewers say it's thick plastic though.

I have a Boss pro PQ-50 parametric eq, and it's a great eq for guitar.
I prefer parametric, but it's not a pedal. It's about half a rack width so not pedal board friendly.

I have a later 2553 Jubilee in silver tolex and the effects loop works great. There was a change from the early silver jubilees effects loops to the later ones, but the black ones should have all had the same effects loop.

As for any graphic EQ, I am sure most know this, but I will throw it out there anyway. Its best to cut frequencies than to try to boost frequencies, it keeps the noise at a min. The noisiest onboard graphic eq was on a crate bass amp, the owner was running with most frequencies boosted to get more volume and that amp was noisy as all get out. I dialed it in so I was running more volume and only cut, and the noise dropped to an acceptable level.
