The BE is a fantastic amp and to a lot of people it is simply THE BEST hard rock amp on the planet.

In the end, I prefer'ed the Cameron CCV. Add to that, I also have the Cameron Atomica and the Cameron Old Bitch so I was covered in the Marshall arena.

It's just my personal preference. And seriously, who says I have good taste anyway!

I sold the Stevens because I A/Bed it with EVH STEALTH BLUE and I preferred the Stealth. Once again, personal preference.

Everyone should know by now that for me, it's not about money, and I get nothing for free. Not even a discount. I buy everything...I put it through the paces and if I like it (based on my own twisted logic) I keep it. If not, it goes.

Yes, the Colossus is staying. I love it!!!!

I could spend more time explaining my point of view but it doesn't really matter I guess.

I sold my BE anyway.

I get your point, when I had my first BE and heard they where coming with full clean now, I was salivating thinking about it. But I loved the clean, so why bother?

I had an offer for it that I could not refuse, so I sold it. I knew I was going to get another one at some point anyway. Now is this time.

Change of subject here, why did you sell your BE? I thought you loved that amp? Still have the SS?

I got two awesome amps incoming, god damn. Can't wait to get the Gemini, still have your Colossus?

Chris

What works for you. I`m surprised at that Stealth comment, i couldn`t coax a sound i LOVED out of it. I did get some tones i liked, but not loving it. Especially the blue channel, i liked the organic nature of the original better, again, what works for me. Oh and byt the amps you have, you do have good tastes man

Now the Rhodes stuff is very awesome, i wasn`t sure you would be keeping it honestly, especially with all the amps you have, i guess it has it`s own thing going on. Did you get a decent crunch out of channel 2, that was the only thing i couldn`t really achieve, keep in mind i only had a couple hours to play around with it.

Thanks a lot, rockinchippy.
I just want to add - this is NOT CCV vs BE100 question. I believe /without any personal experience/, that both amps are phenomenal.

The Rhodes

Yes, I got a rumbling Crunch out of Channel 2.

Like any good amp, a lot of your experience comes down to the choice of pups.

The Rhodes is super-unique...I f'n love it!

Sounds great. Maybe a bit to much gain for my prefered crunch tones but that can be dialed back i`m sure.

Can`t wait to get that thing man

That is a really cool riff man!

I've had my BE100 for about 3 years. My experience is that the magic is in the standard BE channel. I can add a simple pedal clean boost if I want to take it up a notch, but the HBE channel isn't really needed IMO. In fact, I actually prefer the sound of a clean boosted BE channel over the sound of the HBE. The BE channel (with all the switches off) is perfect.

If I were a potential buyer looking for a BE100, I would look for a used one (without any of the new features like channel switching, etc.).

Me too, but........

My last BE that sold I would not of sold it if it didn't have all the options, the guy wanted one with all included, the foot switch able HBE to BE, the VH switch, I think he even contacted Dave to make sure my amp had all available options up to now, especially the switching he was concened about.

So it helps for resale value, but tone wise, it's all about the BE channel for sure.

Chris

that's why i bought a Pink Taco, i just want the one killer sound, no channels or switches, and the fact that it's tiny and weighs nothing makes it perfect for my needs, stick a clean boost in the loop for solos and you're there! :D

Absolutely --- it's for that reason I'm trying to hunt down a Marsha .
