Hey I got a 3 mod Friedman Plexi reissue (recent), it's cool but
would a swap from the stock transformer & tubes make it sound
even better? I like the vibe, I just want it the best it can be.

Can a stock Plexi mode be added as well>? Dave?

Oh yeah whose was it? Yes transformer swaps and tube changes can be good.

It was Jack's SLP Dave. Got the 3 mods + depth, maybe a loop
improvement/tweek. He said stock Plexi mode was possible but
I can't figure it out, the non BE inputs don't do anything.
The 'pull Custom 45' seems real cool, I like it.

That's great, you have a transformer you recommend for these?
Maybe we can chat about taking it to the high level. :)
I just like maximum clean punchy power, low noise, all that
good stuff. I'm in L.A./OC

Unfortanely it was mine. Unexpected bills during the wait meant something had to go (that's what happens with an 11 week old at home), and I'm too attached to long standing amps to get rid of them.

But, that's why I need to send in my '81 JCM 800 if I get to keep it...that's a little easier to justify the cost of since I already own the amp...

Hey Jack I'll take your 800 haha :D

Stop buying all my amps!  If you're seriously interested, shoot me a PM and we'll chat about it. I'll let you know something soon if I need to offload it. The trouble was daycare costs are about $1200 a month I wasn't paying before, which normally isn't a prob...except I didn't realize that the flexible spending account we have would back date deductions to when daycare started when we opened it, which consumed parts of a couple checks...so at the drop of the hat, I got hit with about $2600+ that wasn't accounted for, which is never fun for the checkbook... :D Even that wouldn't have been an issue had I known about it before hand.

Yeah man, I hear ya on the costs that add up.

Thanks so much for the deal, the SLP is up and rockin after a swap
on the gain pot. I'm doing this Woodstock anniversary one off gig,
I'm using it I think...it looks period correct, but with added horsepower
under the hood!

I plugged in my Suhr Modern today into it and went

Awesome. The good news is nothing else is leaving, so the '81 JCM 800 doesn't have to go. Just got the notice we're getting reimbursements from the FSA next week... Now to find an amp to send back in. Wonder how the 800 would sound with a kitchen sink mod? I see Lugo just had one done, maybe he'll chime in on how it sounds versus his others...

OK I'll let you keep your JCM 800! :D That's great it all worked out
for you! Keep us posted on the quest!
