Doxy asap and just take it as prescribed, not missing any doses will take care of it. Even if the blood test is neg most docs will prescribe anyway to be safe. But don't wait; if you pull a tick off just go see your doc. Even if the 'ring' around the bite doesn't show.
But as others said wait too long and it embeds, can't really ever be assured of getting rid of it.
