My Bray 4550 in action. Everything on 10 except mids on 7. Master at only 1.5 so I'm getting a little preamp fizz.
The thing I love about the 4550 is you get the solid state/tube rectified switch. I run mine in the tube rectifier position. Gives it that nice saggy feeling. Mine has all the options as well but I find that the mod 1 has plentyof gain. I'll try and do a clip this weekend with it turned up and unacompanied. I'll post it in this thread.joepete77":ec0978ju said:Nice tone, could u do another clip just ripping through some riffs at different settings etc. what options did u get on your bray? I have a Marshall purchased new from bray with a mod 1 and dual foot switchable masters and fully decked out with all the add on options. My bray is one of the best sounding and fun to play amps I have ever owned. I might order a 4550 from bray in the future with the mod1 plus or a mod 2.

I agree that the clip could have been a little louder but I didn't get the fizzyness or bad tone thing at all. The thing about those amps is that they do great tones at even whisper volume levels, no diode clipping fizziness at all, at least to my ears. Check out some other clips of those amps on YouTube and I doubt u will find a better sounding clip for that screaming plexi type stuff, not a super tight modern metal amp though.FourT6and2":cuuhowra said:Playing = good

Really fizzy. It's probably just an issue of volume, though. You need that amp cooking to sound good. I can hear good tone beneath all the fizziness.

Totally disagree......That there is the good fizz/sizzle that classic Eddie tone hasFourT6and2":2dvnx6su said:Playing = good
