Then they might as well get Tempest to come on board and sing because as it stands, it is a waste of an incredible back line of musicians if Coverdale keeps trying to perform with that voice. That was horrendous.

The smart money is on Joel Hoekstra. He posted "learning songs" a couple days ago on facebook, and he'd be a good choice. Although, I really can't imagine anyone really being better than Aldrich for that gig.

I was talking to Reb Beach a few years ago and we discussed his involvement with Whitesnake. Although Winger and his solo material are where his heart is at, he said Coverdale is beyond cool and treats his band very well ("In Winger we travel by bus and stay at Motel 6...in Whitesnake we fly to gigs and stay at the Four Seasons"), he gets to travel to cool places and play cool shows that he couldn't do otherwise, and he earns a substantial pay check to do it all. Those sound like good enough reasons to me to "want that gig".Kapo_Polenton":1f3w9930 said:

Sheer volume and lousy acoustics in live venues certainly mask a lot of the awfulness we hear in the recent live recordings (not to mention him continually turning over the singing to the audience) and the crowds still show up and seem to dig it, so more power to him as long as he can pull it off. His voice has declined probably more than any other singer I can think of from that era...a real shame.

I absolutely agree that Coverdale's voice is beyond shot at this point. Doug seems to be enjoying himself with his new Las Vegas gig Raiding the Rock Vault.

You should TRY to watch the whole thing if you can. It's pretty tough to take though. I mean you've got a very serious collection of extremely talented hard rock musicians that I personally respect. But their front man has completely lost it.
It's pretty hideous.
Don't get me wrong I always LOVED DC's voice back in the day, with Purple and the early Whitesnake stuff, but come on brother, you're past your best before date and it's time to hang'em up!
