Look like Elliott Rubenson's son Even, who took over Dean HQ and assorted businesses may be in trouble.
Staymetalray has confirmed it after talking to his insiders at Dean HQ and texting with Evan.
It's been known for a while that Evan wasn't very well liked since taking over when his dad passed away.
Lost a bunch of Dean artists. M.A.B. MegaDave. Etc.
Pissed off Rita talking trash about Dimes legacy.
I kinda felt Dean would die off once Elliott passed away. He LOVED that company.

I have heard so many stories about this dude being shady...

That company has been going to shit for a while. My buddy is endorsed by them and the quality is shit. The service is shit. He's currently on tour in Europe with 2 Deans that have issues. His rep was supposed to ship him another and after 3 weeks, when he inquired where it was, his rep said he forgot to send it. He said that the Jackson endorsement where he had to pay 25% was better than free Deans. They also do nothing to promote their artists. Only saving grace is that his endorsement is not on a contract like his amp company. He gets back to the states in a couple of weeks and has 2 days off before a US tour. Pretty sure I am going to take his Jacksons to him and bring the Deans home.

It sounds like this guy is almost shady enough to work for, and any company affiliated with, BC Rich.

It's a damn shame! Elliott was a good guy!
Stealing from anybody let alone your mom, WTF is wrong with people?

I’d rather pay than get free Dean guitars too

All my custom shop Deans are badass bitches.
Its the imports that often fall below par.
Elliott was a guitar fan. It was his life and love.
For Evan it was just a job that was something he had to do.
If you don't love something, you will destroy it thru apathy.

Is BC Rich current ownership bad, too? DAmn, I thought they were finally legit.
I’ve lost track honestly but the history is rife with vicious infighting between various factions of the brand. Typically, things go relatively well for short periods of time then buyouts or corporate acquisitions occur followed by complete reorgs of staff. This isn’t uncommon for brands that have been around for long periods but it seems to happen with BC Rich more frequently.

Thing is, for metal brands, you have Jackson, Dean, BC Rich, and maybe Charvel that are mainstream Metal custom guitar makers. I know ESP makes badass ones also, but the other ones seem kinda classic. I have a Jackson because I love the Rhodes so much. But I have always appreciated some of the bc rich body styles as well

A great B.C. Rich is really something special (they're not all great obviously). I have a US Mockingbird from 95 (ordered it myself) that sounds totally awesome. People laugh when they see it then totally change their mind after handling it and plugging in for a few minutes. Sounds massive, deep and sparkling at the same, just plain instant awesomeness.

Deans are great too. A friend gave me (long term loan) a Dime-O-Flame. Thing looks stupid in a great way and is surprisingly comfy.

Lots of people do bad things for $$$. Sad that he had to do this to his family.
