I love Dave...but he did struggle a lot last night. Hope he gets his shit together...

I saw VH in Pittsburgh a few years ago and unfortunately he sounds like that all the time. :)

With that said, still loved the show.

I can't figure out what is going on with his voice because a lot of the old VH songs are not sung as loud as he sings them now. Take "Dance the Night Away" for example. He tries to sing it higher now and he would be fine if he sang it like it was originally written. :)

Sammy can sing the Dave stuff....Dave cant sing the Dave stuff anymore. And he couldnt sing Summer Nights or 5150 for all the gold in China. Dave has turned into the creepy uncle the family would rather forget about but you still have to invite him over for Christmas. As bad as the vocals are, the stage banter, goofy looks, and aerobics routine are a joke. And leave that stupid baton twirling alone before you bop someone else in the nose just like you did to yourself on Kimmel last night. Again, a total and complete embarrassment. DLR singing (and i use that term loosely) Dance The Night Away in 2015 on Kimmel was one of the most atrocious sonic turds America's poor ears have ever had to endure.

Dear Van Halen,

Some don't care any more. I am on that list.

Please, take Ozzy with you

Carry on

Who's the fat guy on bass?!? (Jk)

Wolfie has put on a few LB's....

I prefer DLR era to Van Haggar, but Sammy is still rocking so awesomely, while DLR is...I don't know what you call it, but it ain't working. I saw Sammy last year, and even though I'm not a fan, was totally impressed and had a great time. Sammy is on his game and DLR is off his rocker.

Back in the day DLR was a great entertainer but not a great vocalist. Now hes not even a great entertainer and his vocals sound like ass

I was there for the Kimmel set last night...and I have to throw my 2cents in:
*Eddie's tones were fantastic! Also...there wasn't 1 note out of place. Everything he did sounded great. Oh sure....he doesn't have that "fire" of his young hungry self...but who does at his age? He's holding himself together great and not getting at all sloppy.
*I know it sounds dumb, but.....DLR (& everything, really...) sounded so much better live. Dave wasn't that great of a singer in their hey-day...so I don't expect much from him. That said...he came off quite excellent.

I say it's great to have them out there doing their thing instead of passing away or disappearing.

PS: I can't defend them on the Wolfie choice though. Where's Michael A.?!

Cool, glad it was better live. I think the issue that bugs me is they could be so much better if Dave worked a little at it and sang the dang songs at least close to normal the way they were recorded..he could be better if he wanted to. Just saw HFTeacher and again, band great, lead vocal just dismal and I really believe if he wanted to be better he could.

Yes, Dave lost his voice but Sammy is not the answer. And I don't think the band could even switch back to that style at this point, they should bring Atomic Punk's singer.

DLR needs a skullet. Metallica got flack for their hair, so should everyone else. :D

Yeah how do you not want to whack him with your headstock? But again he could do it if he even tried to sing it like it was originally...he keeps going for higher notes...and the rest well...Dave is Dave.

He sings like he doesn't know the song. I guess he's always had that going on. When he was singing Hot For Teacher he was more focused on the crowd and chewing gum. The actual lyrics and song were an afterthought. Not to mention all the weird qwerky stuff he was doing on stage. He looked like a tatood Mr. Furley.

I have always been more in the DLR camp but Eddie's live tone rocks right now, I would love to see what Sammy could do. The background vocals also miss Michael. Although I have never been one to cry about that, he is missed. Wolfie seems find for playing bass. I mean really, how hard is it to play bass in VH? He looks like he spends a lot of time working on Hot For Cheeseburger.

But bassed on the Kimmel show, I won't be buying tickets for that trainwreck.

I was planning on buying tickets for the West Palm Beach show and bringing my mom along this September, but I'm going to send her these vids and ask her if she even wants to. Her and my father walked out on VH in the early 80's because the band was so hammered and Roth was just fucking the mic stand the entire time they were bored....and it's not like they weren't fans. It'd be a bummer to have my mom want to walk out on VH again hahahah....

I could see Sammy coming back now that Eddie is sober. Sammy had just as many positive things to say about him as he has negative and the negative stuff was due to Ed's drinking/drugs. I say fuck it, bring EVERYONE out, Wolf, Gary, Sammy, Dave, just rotate everyone around throughout the set and give EVERYONE what they want.

That said, while I don't really ever feel I'm "owed" anything as a fan, I do believe Eddie owes it to himself to be playing with musicians on par with him. The dude has obviously worked at his sobriety and getting himself together and he's Eddie Van Fuckin' Halen, he shouldn't be sharing the stage with a hack.

My god, listen to this trainwreck

This is my favorite VH song and DLR just fucked it up. Hes nasally/flat/cracking and just down right awful. If they are going to keep DLR for the tour, they should be paying the fans to come watch the show. To continue to allow this is just an insult to their legacy.

Forget the band. Forget DLR. I'm more fucking astounded at how the audience are all just standing there holding their fucking phones in the air. Not least because IT'S GOING TO BE TELEVISED!! What's wrong with people?...
