Okay so I have eliminated all hum from my rack.. It has become a hum free zone.. Or so I thought.. Last piece of gear to insert.. My pro rack.. So now I plug my guitar into the input and the out of the output and into the front of my amp.. Keep in mind this is the stereo mod version.. Instant amazing ground hum, buzz what ever you want to call it.. So I hae gone through all of the kazillion ideas to try to fix the problem and finally come down to a guitar into the decimator, out of the decimator into the front of the amp nothing in my effects loop no other gear involved just straight into the amp via the decimator.. Ground hum and buzz all over the place..Is the decimator defective? Am I missing something? This is a noise gate type of unit, it shouldn't produce more noise.. When I plug the effects loop of my amp into channel 1 of the decimator and gate it, it gets rid of some of the hum when I am not playing but when I'm playing you can still gear the hum in the guitar signal..Oh, 1 last thing.. Even when I turn my guittar volume pot off the hum/buzz is still there.. Take the decimator out of the chain and plug my guitar straight into the head.. No hum/buzz.. What gives? Any help would be great apriciated..

insert a ebtech hum eliminator { iso transformer} between the pro rack g and the front of the amp. Ground loop will be broken.

So, I guess this begs the question....why use the Decimator if it is hum-free without it?

Well, when using a high gain amp and needing it to not feed back at high volumes when I stop playing ti would be kinda nice for my amp to not squeal all over the place.. Maybe it's just me but I don't find that a desirable trait when playing metal..
