Default vh4 cab?

So I was wondering, which one of the Diezel cabs is the "default" for the Vh4? The one it has been "designed for" and tested with? (not that others wouldn't sound great too..)

Poppa test drives his amps with a 2x12 loaded with V30s, rear loaded I believe.

That said, any Diezel 4x12, whether rear loaded with V30s, or front loaded with V30s or G12K100s or even a combination (X pattern) of the 2 variants will yield pleasing results. In live situations, the V30s offer more cut - this is known across the board. But in a studio/recording situation, the G12K100s offer a more neutral tonal spectrum, therefore - perhaps - more true to what the amp is speaking as opposed to coloring the amps tone with the mid-rich V30.

It's all up to your ears, but in short, Diezel head? Diezel cab.

PS - and of course this is totally up for review and correction a la Poppa, but I think what I've stated here is truth.

+1 Preach the tone gospel brother!

I have all cabs in my workshop but use the
4x12 FL with destroyed V30´s

To be honest, I need the cab in the right
place and angle. If the members move the
cab by a centimeter after cleaning I´m going
upset and want to redesign the amps.
I have also a slanted Marhall cab with 75´s
for check because a lot of guys use it.
I also like the Diezel 4x12 RL with V30 but
it´s too full and rich for my wood floor.

"What has changed in the VH4 since 2007?"
"Peter's cab position two or three times"

Sweet, thanks! And I agree, I need a Diezel cab and I'd love a K100 FL but it would have to play nice with my current cab, another Bavarian's 2x12 oversized rearloaded V30 cab *coughcough* that sits at 16 ohms for great phase-cancelling tool awesomeness... is that possible? And since my current 2x12 v30 is over-sized, should the new K100 be a big box of wood too then? To match the size and volume or doesn't matter?

Basically I want a Diezel 2x12 with K100s for more variety and the option to run both of them together.

Just pick up a Diezel 4x12, 2x12, 1x12 -=- whatever speakers are in there, make some noise . . .

I'm not sure you'll get much favorable phasing effects from running separate cabs with the same head. I'm no expert, but to the extent that AJ gets that effect, I'd think it's from running multiple heads to different cabs.

That said I'm sure any Diezel will sound great with a Diezel cab. If you like your other cab, I wouldn't think that adding a Diezel cab to the equation is suddenly going to make things sound bad.

Oh, and lol at Raultx's comment.

Hang in there. Diezel's kick ass, great place to more or less start and end your tone search, and we're a good bunch here

Peace,

I've edited some things . . .

I apologize. It was on my part with affection … nothing personal.

Plus I need a new input jack for my Herbert, so I’m a little perturbed and annoyed at the moment. I’m stuck with my Roland Jazz Chorus – 120 until I can get a new input jack for my Herbert and replace it.
