Hey all, here's a demo of my current studio pedalboard setup! It's quite a lenghty video, I've made chapters for the different sections if you wanna skip my rambling lol.
Both clean and distorted tones are coming from the Friedman Jose

Ah, Rocco, haven't seen one of your vids in a while. Still a significantly better guitarist than all of us I see.

This is really awesome how you borrowed some philosophy from old rack systems and set your pedalboard up the same way. Maybe I've missed it, but I haven't seen too many people get as close to that as what you have here. That's really cool.

I hadn't seen that Keeley GC-2 compressor. That really does a good job of doing the same thing the 160X did.

The RedSeven Amp Central EVO sounds like it's doing a great job. Did you load other IRs in it or use the factory ones?

Really is too bad Digitech discontinued those pedals. Nothing quite like Lexicon and these do a great job of imparting that character.

That Jose... damn that sounds good, as expected. Still loving mine!

Thanks man! I'd love to build an actual rack with all the fx from that era but I'm scared of the maintenance/repairing costs of the units, plus prices on them have really skyrocketed in the last few years. This board scratches that itch, while I'm sure nothing compares to the original rack fx.
I've loaded up the same IR I used in the Jose demo video, I've exported it from the Mikko plugin by ML SoundLab. It's a single sm57 on a greenback, hard to go wrong with that!

Nice! What pickups are in your Charvel?

Amazing, Rocco! The tones fit your style so well. I think that Jose sounds amazing in your hands. I really appreciated the thoughtful walkthrough of your pedalboard. Your clean tones are heavenly. Congratulations!

I so glad you're digging the sounds man, thanks!🙏

I'm just at the clean tones, but man...
What sounds! Of course, the playing is everything. So beautiful.

Damn! The dry gain sound is gnarly.
Then adding the pedals...
This is no good for my wallet man.
I've been wanting a MicroPitch and Polara, but now I really want em, and the Red7 to boot.
The AIC tones sound amazing on the Jose. All the tones are great, tbh. Almost regret passing on the Jose.
Sweet playing and great video.

You aren't kidding, the prices of most of that type stuff have gone through the roof over the past 5 years or so. Maintenance is hard to find, too. And yeah, the originals are amazing, but you're getting really close with those pedals, close enough I doubt anyone who isn't extremely familiar with the originals would ever notice. I think the only thing that really matters is that it inspires you to play, which it obviously does.

Figured you were using that ML Sound Lab IR. That sounds great! Really like your Charvels, too. I've got a white Dinky like yours and a couple of old Model 2s, both red in my case.

Thanks again for posting that video!

OK, this may sound crazy, but I'm considering flipping the Thornley Roughneck for the Jose.
Someone tell me that the SLO or Wizard MC is close enough. Please.
