Details on Slash and Yngwie Malmsteen Signature Marshalls

The 308 is very noisey but once playing I do not mind it.

I like the read of this amp WAY better than Slash's, let's hope it really is a SLP modded out.

Looks killer to me. I will definitely check that out at NAMM.

Say what you want but Marshall has the most exciting amps this year, IMO. Haters gonna hate though.

As cheesy as Yngwie is he is still THE shred master to me. He really sent the guitar world upside down. Leather pants and stupid sunglasses aside, he can still play like a demon.

I concur. Dude's a total nimrod but he can play his ass off. Not to mention the way he kicked the guitar world completely in the ass whether anyone liked it or not.

Yeah Marshall may not be using ptp lately but imo they have been putting out solid amps. When are you selling your jvm so I am last man standing??? :D

Yep, we need you to do a full NAMM report

I still have my JVM :D

Pfft... Marshall is so far off track, they need a travel agent...

You guys line up, I will keep buying '70's superleads.

Wonder if it was built with the idea of being boosted (like he always did) or if the circuit has enough gain on tap?
I dont like the "self-biasing" trend. Thats one gripe I've always had with boogies. The reverb circuit is probably similar to the JVM's, that should sound great.
Sounds like the output section of a 900 (fused to keep running) I like that idea. I hope its a PCB that is more old school than new
Cant wait to hear and see it, I'll bet it will be pretty expensive, but hopefully worth every penny
The booster is inside, Yngwie plugs his guitars straight into it, actually I think Relentless was recorded with these amps ;-)
The self biasing has nothing to do with non-biasable amplifiers. The circuitry allows you to bias the amp as you want without having to use any tools or multimeters. Check the AFD100 rear panel and you'll see the bias trimmer there, there is also more info about how to bias it.

Yawn. The last amps I liked that Marshall made was around 1983.

Marshall dropped the ball big time by not grabbing some modded Marshalls done by Friedman, Cameron, Fortin, Golub, etc and making a killer amp. Marshall is all about mass production, not the quality of tone. IMHO based on decades of being a Marshall fan. ;)

If Marshall does that, people would be wanting to mod the already modified amps...

He's locked into an era musically as well as fashion. Bring back the 80's! I love it.

No, I got mine later, after the dust settled

I'm wondering if Marshall could call the amp an EVH, modded Plexi with "variac" and all!?

I gotcha, THAT I actually love, thanks for the info, and for chiming in, you could probably clear up a lot of BS about the amp (like my post)

"Lately"..you mean since 1973   Plus the style Marshall used before then isn't point to point. PTP doesn't involve a board per se. It's just considered a hand wired turret board.

Even though like Dave I've been pretty disallusioned by Marshall after 1983 I'm always up for giving their latest tube amp a try with open ears.

Looks like a lot of tone sucking features to me. I suspect it'll sound that way too.

I also wonder if the same results could be had by buying a used 1959 reissue, and sticking a noise gate and OD pedal in front, for a total under $1200?
