Did a vid, Mesa Recto Pre500 REV C...Brootz Inside \m/

Did this quick vid of my Rev C after having it for a few weeks. Rectos are unbeatable for demoing small houses and bringing the metalz. Played my go to ESP Flame Baritone with an EMG 81x in the bridge. Plugged straight into the amp going through the bogner 212 with v30s. NO BOOSTS!

I do still have your Rev F. The one you see in the video is actually a Rev E though. My F is on the other side of the room. just retubed it the other day, rectos are the shiz.

Yup its orange channel on modern. the best way to recto. all modes sound good though, except for cleans, who cares about those though haha..

Not to derail your thread, but [derail] I'm currently shopping for a 2 chan Recto. What SN is the Ref F you have, and are the differences large between it and the Pre-500? I know when Rev G (large logo) came out, that marked the first big changes sound wise, but how about pre Rev G? I am looking at one which is a ~2400 SN that has original Schumacher transformers.

If its 2400 than its deff a rev f.

This has been beaten to death everywhere comparing them lol. My input on the differences are they are voiced the same. Its a recto. It sounds like a recto. The differences i can tell which are minimal are they are more focused and tighter the earlier you go in the revisions.

My rev c is noticeably different from the later revinsions only because its brighter. A few knob turns fixes that though. I would never be able to tell the differences in them until you A/B them side by aide.

You cant go wrong with any of them. If a rev f is your only recto you would be set. i would try and find a blackface though just because its not as common.

I preferred the Rev F a lot more...but you can dial them in very similar. I ended up finding a clean Rev F Chrome chassis Triple earlier this year and am very happy with it. I sold off a Rev F dual for it. I don't play at crazy loud volumes, so I tend to use a Cusack Screamer or Timmy out front.

What did you prefer about the Rev F to the C?

The F was smoother and thicker. I think they were equally compressed though.

Sounds awesome, Rich! Glad she went to a good home... Still have a Rev D, Rev F, and Rev G here as well. The C and D are nearly identical, minus a little bit of hair on the presence. The E-G have a slightly different vibe.
