Diezel 412F cab VS. Bogner UberCab?

I am looking for some experienced opinions on this. Currently I have a guy willing to sell me a Diezel 412F (it's white, front-loaded with v30s). It looks like this (this is not the place I'm buying it though): http://www.vintageguitaramplifiers.net/ ... 30s/20006/

On the other hand, I have the option to buy a used Bogner Ubercab (2 v30s and 2 G12T75's).

Both cabs are 16 ohm and front-loaded. So my question is, which one should I get? I ask because I think I can get the Bogner cheaper than the Diezel. It doesn't look as pretty/boutique as the white Diezel, but if I can save a couple hundred and get the same sound, why not? I just wanted your opinion if any of you have ever had the pleasure of A/Bing them.

Also: I will be playing a Diezel Herbert MKII through the cab, if that helps. High-gain hard rock sound. Thanks!

EDIT: Fixed the link

Tell you what. You buy the bogner and I'll buy the diezel!!!! :-)

lol like I said, I'm not buying the one on this website. I can't even tell if that's a current listing, I just found it on Google. So go ahead and buy that one, then we'll both have white Diezel cabs! :D (unless someone here tells me different I am leaning towards the Diezel, aesthetically there is just something about it, and Diezel + Diezel just seems right to me).

before i got the diezels front, i owned 8 ubercabs, and sold them in seconds! sounded muddy and close compared with the diezels...

I've heard great things about the new Uberkabs. I would probably go with the Diezel cab, I'm a big fan of matching gear.

The Bogner UberKab is a killer, killer cab... Great sounding mix, the 75s and the 30s. I really like the UberKab.

The Diezel FL 4x12s are a game changer. I'm more a fan of the G12K100 loaded FL 4x12, but a lot of cats use the V30 model. Outside of this - many users have X patterned the G12K and the V30s to get the best of both worlds.

Diezel cabs are incredibly solid. Thunderous and stable.

Your call. If it was me, I'd go FL4x12, and try swapping out two of the 30s with G12Ks.

Peace

Always a matter of taste.. I can understand why a lot of guys on here love the Diezel cabs: they are simply awesome. That being said: I am more into Bogner as far as the cabs are concerned. I guess it's just a combination of amp, tubes, guitar, type of music you play and your ear. In terms of quality, you cannot go wrong.. no matter which one you may choose. It will just be a "different" sound, not a "better" sound.

Mind you, I play only 2x12s (the rest will not fit in my car :)). I tested a lot of 2x12s against each other and ended up with a Bogner 212. I felt the Diezel was excellent as well, but just not my taste. Before I bought a (smaller) car, I played a Bogner 412 with my Diezels. I play a lot of rock; no metal. For this, at least to my ears, the Bogner just "fits" better.

Bottom line: see if you can find a place to try them both with your gear.

I'm reading this "Speaker Battle: V30 vs G12K-100" thread and I think I might actually do that. I'm really liking what I'm reading, and I generally don't like throwing all my eggs in one basket, especially when it comes to sound.

I've owned both and play through a Herbert. Both cabs are very nice but I prefer the German made Diezel with v30s as it just sounds "smoother" to me. Like I said, both cabs are awesome so you really can't go wrong with either one. in fact, just buy both of them :)

Go with the X... all 4 being V30 is too middy man, not letting the actual amp speak its voice. all 4 as G12Ks is very very neutral and perhaps not as attacking as the V30s. A lot of cats dig the X of the two. I'm still a die hard as I dig the G12K for all 4 cones in the cab as I also do more close-mic recording and for me, the G12K represent better.

Nice thing is??? You've got options

Peace,
Uncle

Uncle Mo is right as always. For my heavy used ears
I need a bit high mid spike from the V30 :D

OK, I am clearly biased but I went with a FULL STACK of Diezel cabs paired with Herbert...bottom cab has V30s and top cab is K100s, both new German made monsters

I am new here, so I will take the liberty of going ahead and geeking that Peter Diezel himself (or "Mark Diezel" as he was called in another thread, lol) posted in my thread :P

I just paid for the Diezel cab. I'm not sure if the rest of you guys are like this, but sometimes I get a "gut feeling" when I see certain gear. I got that in spades when I saw my Burny LS-105, and I definitely got that when I saw this cab, so I know I will not be disappointed. Should be here in a week. I will swap out 2 of the speakers for the K-100s when it arrives and then I'll throw my 2 cents into the din of reviews. I know I won't be disappointed, very excited!!!

A full stack??? Why stop there? Get TWO full stacks, two with all v30s, two with all K-100s. Then put them in an x-pattern as a wall stack. hahaha

When I bought my first new style German 412 front load, it came with all K100's. Thought it was great at first with how neutral and "clean" the tone was, but that grew old QUICK and I wanted more crunch and bite. I did the X pattern of two K100's and two V30's for a long time and really liked that. I thought that was THE setup. I then bought my second German made 412F that came with all V30's. I prefer all V30's now.... more cut, more crunch, more in your face. I think the V30 is a higher quality speaker too, it's more expensive and the magnet is larger than a K100.

I really like all the different opinions everyone has on this. It is a common topic of discussion and is always very good willed.

The magnets are actually the same exact size and weight. The Voice coil's are the same size as well. The V30's are 1db more sensitive. V30:100db, K100:99db...

Now for the strange specifications. the Frequency range on the V30's is 75-5500hz where the k100 is 80-5500hz. Strange that I find the k100s produce more bass or perhaps its just focused better around the 85hz range for guitar.

The only TRUE way to tell which is better is to try them both. Infact it's the only way to really understand the dilemma at all and make a choice.

Oh and do yourself a favor and get a front loaded cab ALWAYS ;)
