I was curious how does it sound on lower volumes. I have Boogie Mark IV and I love it also for the possibility to play it in my bedroom and it still has great tone, even if the output volume is very low. How does it work with Diezel amps?

Works IMO pretty well, esp. if you keep the master set as if you'd be playing with a band and decrease the channel volumes.

Great. What about Einstein 50W head?

The 50W Einstein sounds very good at low volume settings, and has a killer tone when cranked.

Thank you. That's cool. I'm thinking about it to get one in future.

In terms of my equipment in bedroom volumes; Mesa Mark V and Mako MAK2 are better than VH4 which is rather decent. As far as I know, VH4 has a bit different characteristic in the master volume department as e.g. Herbert and thus is not that well suited to quiet volume levels.

It's my humble opinion that none of these firebreathers ought to be kept at bedroom level... They're too good loud to be put in the kennel. BUT, having said this, I've found the VH4 to be fine so long as the depth and presence were tweaked at lower volumes, and the Hagen is a fine sounding amp at low rates. The Herbert was pretty linear - high volume, low volume, it was good. But of the 3 I've had the pleasure of playing, the VH4 was the one that really opened up tonally when cranked. My Hagen is awesome at all volumes, but does require EQ tweaks as the volume goes up.

Why lower volumes

I have never played an amp that sounds and feels as good at bedroom volume as a Herbert.
