Hi All,

I need a quick advice from you guys.

Yesterday I met a guy who has a Diezel Cab 2x12 FL with G12K100 for sale.
Price is good, cab looks good.

The only thing that bothers me is that this cab has no Split mode at the back to connect the amp whether 1x4Ohm or 2x8Ohm.
There is only one cab input: 16Ohm.

Question is:
Is the split mode some kind of very cool feature, and how do usually people use the split mode one cab ?
To connect 2 amps into one cab ?
Or to connect a stereo amp like VH4S to one cab ?

I don't want to buy this without split mode and regret it later because split mode is vey useful.

Thank in advance for your feedbacks.

It can be useful for the things you mention. Off the top of my head, it's useful because:

1) you can use the VH4S with one cab (but there might be some undesirable phasing issues with both speakers in the same physical space)

2) you can connect to separate amps to the same cab (but again, there might be phasing issues)

3) you can run wet/dry out of the same cab (running a line out to your effects, to a separate power amp, to the other side of the cab; but again: potential phasing issues)

4) (if the switch is like a Marshall) you have every impedance option available: 16 ohm (both speakers in series), 8 ohm (using just one side), and 4 ohm (both speakers in parallel)

If the price is right, and the condition is ace, then just go for it and pick up another to match down the road.

There are a lot of people in North America who are jonesing to get their hands on a 2x12 Diezel cab.

Hit it!!

I rewired my Diezel cabs this way. 16 ohm straight, no split. I like 2 x 16 ohm cabs at 8 ohm equivalent.

OK I will get it or order a new one anyway.
But not for me, this one will be dedicated to all US rockers that are jonesing to get their hands on a 2x12 Diezel cab.
... and also dedicated to steve_k's avatar...

By the way, what is the thing with the 2x12s inth US, why does it look more complicated to get 2x12 rather than a 4x12 ?
Don't tell me that 2x12 are prohibited by the Nuclear Safety Authority ?!
