How can you tell if yr looking at a Diezel cab made in the us or in Germany?

I think a red ring/washing on one of the input jacks is signal for the US cabs. But I think the biggest clue is that if the owner can't convincing vouch for its provinance (when and where it was originally purchased from), it's more than likely a US cab.

That said, I now have some of the brand new German made cabs and they are HUGE sounding! One difference is they have bigger back plates and silver markings around the mono jack. They also have silver piping that goes around the whole front of the grill cloth. Now mine are front loaded, so I can't say for the rear loaded variety.Peter Stapfer spoke about a few of the differences on a YouTube video a while back. Might check that as well.

Jump over into the Diezel forum, been a bunch of buzz about cabs lately. A bunch of pics and stuff too in a couple of threads.
Here is another way to tell.....
There are not very many new style German made cabs here in the states. You have a better chance of finding one here on Rig Talk classifieds than on Craigslist or the like. I have only seen TWO front loaded 412 new style german cabs here on rig talk for sale used. I bought the first one ( probably the first used one to ever hit the market) and another one popped up a year or two later.
Pretty much a 99% chance that it's going to be older USA cabs on anything out there.

The red ring is as well on my cab that I picked up directly at Peter Stapfer in Dillingen.

Interesting. But what year was that? For a while they were made both in the US and Germany; maybe your cab is from that time?

I picked it up in 2010, after production had moved to Lauingen - I had the chance to check out the differences between the 2x12 Hempcone and the V30.

Well that makes things complicated. It does sound like its most likely a USA one though.
