Channel 3 is my favorite there. Cool amp.
Nope Clean is not clean. Just like you look for those special tones in the overdrive/distorted channels, My Mesa Mk III has clean but is not like the "Clean" on the 20th A. Xtc. or the clean Of the Shiva. People search for that "Clean Tone" like you do for perfect driven tone. Thats why you hear people comparing amps to the Fender Twin, Deluxe, Bassman or a JC120 or Fishman.steve_k":1rca7hxc said:pfffffffft........clean is clean. I don't get it.

I agree. They are in no way bad, but nothing numerous other amps can't do. I'm not being a downer, but CH2 has nothing on a Marshall.......much less a decent mod. Doesn't have that raunchy "KERRRRANG". Too processed IMO.![]()
because from where I am standing , there is no processed happening dude.

I'd love to hear this amp with a second mic complementing the sm57 (I don't like how 57 sound by themselves on amp.... that or he 57 with some ambience room mic (camera mic could be). But again, we can't ask for more from you, you did a GREAT job.
I like how they all sound honestly....but I feel the GEM in this amp as with the vh4 lies in Channel 2........ that sounds so sick.....![]()

Rezamatix":2fwajfzv said:It's hard to say, the clean channel is way spongier and bouncier than the vh4, I felt like the clean on the vh4 was a metal bands clean sound, whereas the Hagen has a more universal kind of vibe, you can play Hendrix runs, or like tone monster did in his clips, some RHCP under the bridge.
Channel 2 can definitely just be a rock blues channel all to itself, especially if you want smoky tones at low gain and big crunch at high gain settings, the vh4 channel 2 had much less range in the gain knob.
Channel 3 can do vh4 channel 3 but it can also go to a VERY metal place.
Same thing for channel 4 of Hagen...
On the whole I think you can dial in alot of colors with the amp, and those include blues/clean, rock drive etc.
But I think it really shines as a high gain amp.
If you want a more bluesy amp, get a super reverb with a tube screamer...
Sure just wondered why you put such a FX ridden demo up when people want to hear the new amp. I noticed you've since put a dryer vid up. Nice playing, good for metal, not my thing though, too sterile.Rezamatix":w9zqrlcp said:Did you read the title of the thread at ALL?supersonic":w9zqrlcp said:Can't hear the amp throught the goop.

But could you use an SM57 circa 1983 three inches from the bottom right speaker directly pointed at the cone using a red xlr cable from the same era. Guitar volume at 8 with tone at 10. While eating an In/Out burger in your right hand while doing pull offs in E locrian. It's the only way I'm going to hear the true nuances of the amp. Oh ya and only ketchup, mustard and pickles on the cheese burger otherwise the tone will be compromised.
Lol
You did a great job bro. Thanks for taking the time to do it. It ain't easy.
