Picked up a used excellent condition Diezel VH2 last year and I love it. But I started having an issue when switching to the clean channel. There would be a volume drop and occasional static and crackling coming from the clean channel. If I played with the gain it would come back. Last fall I contacted Diezel and they directed me to BAD. BAD sent me out a full set of JJ ECC83S on them which I really appreciated. But today the same issue came back with the clean channel. Volume drop when switching to it, and when the volume comes back, occasional static and crackling. The usual signs of a bad preamp tube. Everything else on the amp sounds fantastic. Since it's happened so close together in time would you suggest having an amp tech look at it? Or sending it to BAD? Or trying some of my own sourced preamp tubes to see if that fixes the problem? I know several people online have seemed to have trouble with the reliability of JJ tubes.

if you can afford it, change all pre-amp tubes to test... In general if its a tube failure I rather guess on a power tube.. but still worth a try.

Ya power tube . I hope you get it fixed . Stick around and talk Diezel amps with us . You have any other diezels or amps ? I have 2 Herberts and and Vh4 . People ask which one is better ? Well imo they are equal just different . So I solved that problems. Just use both vh4 and Herbert at once

No problem with power Tubes rather than preamp ?
Not that I can tell. Channel 2 seems to sound fine with plenty of volume on tap with what seems normal. But it does seem like I might just need it checked out.

This is my first and only Diezel… so far. Would definitely like to also own a Hagen, Herbert, or Bix Max.
