Don't mean to be a prude...

But tool is like, dim light hookah den rock music. I can't see the amazing tone anywhere. Let alone hear it from any song TOOL had ever done. Uninspiring to say the least. But some people really idolize it, I think it's a mental thing. Once a human latches onto something or believes something... the rest of the senses including the ears can fall in line and the brain convinces you of things that aren't there.

All this debating about a blue face... it truly is the modern form of the age old cork sniffery that never dies.

As a dilusional tone chaser myself, I get it. But the tool/Adam Jones thing... I'd take creed over that shit any day. Twice on Thursday.
 
Agreed. The entire 10,000 Days album was glorious. Rosetta Stoned really showcased the Diezel sound.

The previous albums had a much drier, almost scratchy aggressive guitar tone. 10,000 Days onwards captures his live tone more and is much easier on the ears.
I agree : he got rid of the nastiness he had
