Diezel VH4 - Metal [Uptdated] Raw Clip

The Marshall you can dial how much high end you want. With the Diezels you can only do this to a certain extend because some of the frequencies aren’t there in the first place

Cool tones still though!
The new Version is brighter and tighter. But it lacks in other departments now.

What do you feel are the other departments where it lacks? The most recent version VH4 I tried was from 2018 and didn't care for it either

I wrote about it in the other Thread, so i just copy&paste it here:

i don't know which thread will get more tracking, so i post it here too:
Before we start a new myth, could it be you are getting blocking distortion with the gain above 13:00?
With your thick strings and low tuning and the diezels rather unfiltered input this is not unlikely.
maybe it's just the new pre amp tubes your Diezels came with, that are more prone to it...

And here is the same answer: :D
Die Clips hast Du doch gehört?
"The new Amps are simply different, than the earlier Vh4s.
On a Mesa, for example, i can dial the gain on 10 and then additionally boost the shit out of it and it's still open and articulate with all the harmonics, if i wanted to."

Who said that quote?
Also, the quote is mostly about Mesa amps and how articulate they are. It doesn't say anything about what the "new" VH4 supposedly sounds like relative to a Mesa or even to an old VH4.

I heared the clips of the boosted "old" VH4 and the Herbert MK3 ch3 with gain at 2:30 but not the latest VH4 boosted but it's not that i don't believe you that at this point all dynamics are lost.
With EMGs and my 7 string this similiar bad on my old herbert MK1 and VHX.

The thing i found with the Diezels is that they clip almost the whole spectrum. So it seems they have a shitload of gain, but actually the upper registers are not that distorted. if you take the lowend away pre distortion it's much more like a normal amp and you get way less gain at the same setting because it only clips the spectrum higher up. If you set a high pass / low cut at 720 Hz corner freq (like a tubescreamer) my amps get a crazy defined and even twangy! You can easily raise the gain now and it will not run out of headroom as fast and the harmonics fly out more easily at similiar distortion levels (so higher gain knob setting).
Without an EQ in front i never had good results with thick strings and/or downtuned guitars.

on the other hand, no problem to make a standard tuned thin stringed single coil guitar fat.

It's mine. And it's an answer to valve. The Conversation goes across 2 threads.

Makes total sense. Thanks. :) I didn't mean to bash the Diezel, it's just that the Lenz Octane suits my style better.
