Hey nbarts,

great clip as always

How do you like the MM with the Herbert?
Does it give the Herbert a little bit more "cut" in the VH4-direction?
Do you think it is possible to get this kind of sound ot of the Herbert, too?

Haven't tried it with Herbert yet.
The difference between MM & say Ceramic Nailbomb is that MM's cut is pronounced at lower frequency (the reason for EMG81 reference) than nailbomb, which gives you overall darker/rounder sound in the mix. It doesn't cut any more or less.
It's not gonna make the Herbert sounds like a VH4. And VH4 doesn't cut any more in the mix than the Herbert in my experience, more so live. But then I play with Herbert's gain around 8-9:00, so what do I know?
I think it's possible to get "that kind of sound" out of Herbert or from almost any other amp for that matter. It's not gonna sound the same, but it will be that kind of sound. Herbert will probably give you more high & low frequencies.

Thanks for the reply =)
It would be nice to share your experience after you tried it with the Herbert

Loving your clips lately! God I want a VH4 so bad!!!

Be aware of the loudness of this amp, not playable in most little clubs IMO. I'm using a 25db pad before the mic.

Agreed... In my case, I thought my VH4S was a fairly solid, predictable, awesome amp until I hit about 11 o'clock on the MV with my channel volume at 3 to 4 o'clock... After this point, it was sterilizingly loud, but still held its own, ya know?? No flub, no noise, no anything - just stooooopidly loud DIEZEL tone.

Love my 4S, yes I do
