Digital is a sterile copy of the original signal.
It is a generalized statement, but it's a true statement. Some digital delays have the ability to roll it off.guitarslinger":32sgro2b said:Death by Uberschall":32sgro2b said:Analogue has an inherent warmness to it, rolls the high end off a little to sound more natural.
Digital is a sterile copy of the original signal.
so, just because it's digital, the high end can't be rolled off on the repeats?
I think you're generalizing a bit much here.![]()

FWIW, a GOOD digital sounds great to me. 2290, SDE2500, SDE1000, ADA S1000, ADA D640, Chandler Echo, etc.![]()

Digital is a sterile copy of the original signal.
Only if you use a lame digital delay.![]()

I can say that not all digital delay's are created equal. Do you really think a Boss DD6 sounds as good as a Timeline or a Pigtronix Echolution?![]()

I have been spoiled by rack delays, I had a friends dd-20 here and my SDE-3000 just leveled it and we are not even talking close. The decays, the way the unit handled the core tone, everything. Same goes for verbs, after going lexicon there are no stomps imo.
That said I deal with my dl-4![]()
