As long as I've been a guitar player, I have always prefered the sound of tube amps and analog effect pedals. The other day, a guitar center ad came to the house talking about a new multi-fx processor from digitech. Immediately I thought to myself, just another pain in the ass multi-fx pedalboard that will probably not sound that good and be hard to navigate through. But curiosity got the best of me so I decided to check out this youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlhoYkuKD5s). I have to admit that now a days, technology plays a huge part in everyone's everyday life and for me, it would be hard to live without it (I mean shit, I got an app on my android phone to find the cheapest fuel prices among countless other time wasting apps!). So I am watching this video, absolutely floored at the flexibility of this unit, when its coupled to the ipad. Its as easy as click, drag, and drop. then you can set the fx loop placement within the amp/fx chain, then there's a button that adds in an external fx loop for actual pedals you want to use (ex: boutique overdrive/reverb or whatever). Then there's an amp button that turns off the preamp section of the pedal. Like I said previously, I really enjoy the tube amp/analog fx's but this may be something that I would wanna try out at least for a couple days to see how it sounds. Anyone have any experience with this??
