My favorite DMZ combo is the Humbucker from Hell in the neck and the Andy Timmons in the bridge.

I would like try these combinations: tone zone/air norton,norton/paf 36 anniversary,titans,par joe/mojoe,transitions but I read somewhere that they are great pickups but not for metal.

I see what you are going for. I think the first two would be great. Well the Joes combo too. Don't leave out to try an Air Classic/EJ Neck if you want lower output.

Low to medium output in my opinion is the way to go with amp that has as much gain as the Evh 50 watt
