Since I got it back from Voodoo after 2 and a half years of nothing i opened it up just to take a look and compare stock configuration to what it has. turns out this thing has definitely been mickey moused in the past and supposedly put back to stock. it's almost stock but there are cheap quality caps and resistors across V1. The tremolo circuit is definitely not original and I am going to take it out. ideally i want to add another gain stage that can be switched back to stock. As far as taking the Tremolo circuit out, I would like to play the amp with it disconnected (before adding gain stage) but am confused on what I should do with the heaters to the trem tube. There was a cap going from the trem circuit to the cathode of V1. I disconnected that. Disconnected the pots for the trem. So far i have left the ground from the trem connected with the trem tube pin connected to the board as well. I want to remove it all but do it in a way where the heater wires are still there for the trem tube with the tube out. Not sure about the safest way to do this, do i just leave the heaters and filament connected to the tube socket? remove them from tube socket pins and leave hangin? (doesn't seem safe). Or another way. Mainly I want the heaters in place for when i add the gain stage from the trem tube socket.

I have a 72. Best way to disconnect the Trem circuit is to simply pull the pre tube, V1. This is coming from a pretty well thought of Marshall restorer, on the Marshall Forum. He says that disconnecting it in the circuit doesn’t add anything different than simply pulling the tube.
Your tech question might be better served in the tech subforum though.

Thank you! I'm newer here but you answered my question, thank you!

The famous rented Lynch Caswell Marshall was a tremolo model, where the tremolo circuit was changed to a gain stage.
