I was playing the CCV and coping some plexi tones and I thought, WTF? I own a real plexi, no need to try and copy those tones...and to me, the CCV is not some kind of Marshall clone in a Marshall style headbox, it is a killer 2+ channel custom designed tone machine. So I started thinking outside of the box and it brought me to mess around with the 3 way voicing switch. I usually leave it to the left for the most gain, but not tonight. I moved it to the right (mid gain) and changed all of the settings. The tone was super tight in both clipping stages. I ended up going mid clipping for clarity... but I wanted more gain. I pulled out the TIM pedal and BAM! The tone was tight as hell, yet had some sag to make it really fun to play. I ended up slaving and used some chorus for shits and giggles. I was having a blast playing Miracle Man by Ozzy. So much chunk and attack. Even the solo was easy to play with this tone. The CCV still amazes me.
Man... what were you smoking tonight?? You know, seriously... sometimes lower gain (but still smokin' hot) works just fine! As long as ya can crank that bitch!! Dave, do you have any Dave Friedman modded amps in your stable? Holy fuck do they compliment the Cameron modded/built stuff! My "KS" modded 100 watt JMP rules!!

Haha. No smoking over here   I played a Friedman KS and it was cool, but it was noisy and didn't move me much. I would love to try out a Marsha, but I can't find anyone local who has one. A bunch of people on the forum have Marsha's, but seem afraid to post clips? I am more than happy with my CCV

What's your favorite speakers with the CCV? 4 H30s? Have you tried the H30/CL80 mix in comparison? If so, how were they different?

Gotta get one of these some day some how.
