I have a T/D module that will not get clean unless I turn my guitar way down. I have changed out the tubes and it still wont stay clean. It does it with any guitar I try and it really is pissing me off. I really wish it was as clean as a Rebel 30 or Renegade and maybe it should be but mine has never been clean. Anyone got and tips or should try a different module?

Sounds like a bad module to me. The T/D is a very high headroom clean tone. If you aren't getting that...then you have a problem.

DOes it do this too when you have your guitar plugged in directly to the amp and aren't using the effects loop?

Yes It does Eric, Those tubes you suggeted sound good but still not clean.

By the way what do you do with a bad module? send it back to Bruce?

I would give Bruce and Jeff a call and then send it in, yeah. They are probably gearing up for NAMM though so you may have a tough time in the next two weeks.

The T side is amazingly clean for me (especially with the gain rolled down and the master higher) - agreed you should check to see if there is an issue with it (and of course check the signal chain to ensure that the gain isn't coming from another source - e.g., the M4 output driving the power amp, etc.). To get cleaner than the T, I'd likely need to plug my guitar straight into a solid state power amp
