My PRS had a nut issue bought new, and was replaced by them at the PTC warranty center. To my dismay, this one has issues as well. I had major binding in D, B, & G, but was able to clean up 2. G sits too far down and punches it. Minus filling and recutting, I found a Graph-tech TUSQ that should drop right in, (may need shaved down a tad, might be a tad tall.

Based on my findings, they seem to be far less intimidating than a Gibson nut that sits much deeper. Saw a few videos where two light taps to a block of wood, like gravy.

Anybody do a USA PRS? I'm thinking if it's been changed already, the seams have already been cut, avoiding any paint removal/chipping.

I did this on a couple LP and use TUSQ-XL pre-notched nuts for LP's. Before removing I cut with an exact-o blade thru the clear so it doesn't chip off anything else. It can take a bit of strength to remove it but comes of easy. I sand off any wood glue left in the nut slot. I use the existing nut as a guide to get the new one to match...just sand down the bottom of the TUSQ-XL for the right height and install. I use wood glue and mix ratio...add in some water so if the need to remove in the future it won't be stuck on too hard.
