DLR Show- So much better than the Hagar/ VH show

No huge fanfare. Just a killer band and great tunes. The 4 Convicts paroled to sing backup is a nice touch as well.
Also, kudos to the Soundman, who actually lets you hear the guitar clearly.

I just caught that this morning myself ............... couldn't agree more .

That looks like Brian Young on guitar still?!

If so, that is one sweet dude. Killer tone and playing. Suhr and Marshall rack amps I think. He showed up at a gig I had in St. Pete in '09 as he was in town for rib fest. Some little guy with Marty Friedman hair bopped into the pizza joint/bar and said "I'm DLR's guitar player you should let me sit in". Ok little fella sure you are. Turns out the bassist knew who he was so he played my white Jimi strat and jammed SRV's cold shot with us. He promised to get us backstage after his show and the man was true to his word. That meant a lot to me Great memory.

I accidentally met Red Voodoo the other day at breakfast after seeing a concert and didn't know who they were until we got to talking. They said they were playing M3 and heard they did a good show and definitely have that 80s vibe.

DLR had some high profie Vegas date a while back but canceled for a presumed health thing.. Possibly a back issue.
All better now?

Man, this just shits all over whatever Sammy is doing if you want to actually remember Eddie and the Vh legacy.
I know people are divided on what they like vocally but I’ll take personality , charisma and fun factor over technically more “proper” singing without those things any day.
Plus I just straight up like Dave’s singing on the records better. I think because of the live shows he gets a bad rap but he’s very good on the records and if they had, had Sammy from the beginning they would have been a mildly, successful rock band with a guitar hero, not heroes for eternity.
Dave’s story during Dance The Night Away was pretty on point 😂.

Al Estrada on guitar . I think he’s been with Dave for about 5 yrs now

Satch is obviously one of the best but, he should stay far away from the EVH thing.
Agree. Love Satriani but this is not his bag.

It’s almost like Sammy is playing to the “suite” crowd and Dave is playing to the core audience.

Al is killing it. Good for him. He did the Suhr SL67 video where he plays an upbeat version of the Women In Love riff that sounds just like something EVH would do, but still his own thing. Great player.
