I have a Splawn cab loaded with man O wars and gov'ners in an X pattern and vs. Celestions they just downright suck. Buzzy and undefined. Plenty broke in too. I've had the cab since '08. I did a 7 speaker shoot out last night with the VH4 and they were the worst two. Does anyone like them?

I thought the Govs/M'o'Wars were the least shitty out of the several Eminences I've tried over the years. Thats all the praise I can give them.

Woah, that's scary.

I really like the wizard, Lynch super V, and Legend GB128. I haven't tried many others, but these three rock!!

Seems with their artist lineup and product names, Eminence's target market is rednecks

I have 2 Super V's. I put some time on them for about 2 years. I like them and think they are solid speakers but at the moment they are out of the cab. The complaints and observations you have made however, are what I have also heard about eminence drivers. So many options but few really hit the mark. I think they seem to be lifeless due to some of the high frequency roll off they try to build into the speaker so as to control the perceived harshness of new speakers. (celestions don't always sound great when brand new)

I have a Delta Pro in a 1x12 I use with the 1101 that sounds very good, very flat though. I also have liked the Wizard and Cannibis Rex for particular amps/cabs.

I love the eminence built Mesa black shadow MS-12's. But in general I am not a fan of Eminence OEM or aftermarket eminence speakers, thought honestly I have not tried many. This is where I rely on clips, I find that clips that sink a brand more than make a brand for me. IE if I don't like most of the clips of a speaker, I am not likely to buy it. If I do like clips, than I am more likely to give it a chance.

I have a Splawn cab with the Eminence "Small Block" speakers. These have been the best speakers I have tried yet.

I hate mine so much I'm literally thinking about putting them in the trash.

The Swamp Thang is my favorite speaker. Can't say much else about any others.

Or, you can judge gear with your ears. Just sayin.

Yes I would if I had heard them in person more extensively
For now I'll just stick to the smartass comments :D

I tried the Gov which I thought was ok. The Texas Heat is a piece of crap, sounds terrible. The old MS-12 was cool. Others I've tried were aweful.

I thought the wizard was one of their more popular speakers.. what is the story there? is it a v30/g12h30 type thing?

i've got a texas heat in a fender blues deluxe, works really well with the combo, stays defined and clean even at higher volumes, the stock speaker was breaking up a bit at practice volumes

I use the Delta Pro-12a x4 for a bass cab. They sound awesome. The cab is heavy as fuck though

Tried a pair of Governors a while ago and did not like them. I do really like the Splawn SBs made by Eminence though.

I use to really like the eminence line. The wizards were my fave. At some point I noticed this strident high end present in every speaker type from them. Couldn't stand it and moved on permanently. If you like the basic flavor they are great if you don't you won't like any of them. I feel the relaxed vibe of the WGS line has a similar polarizing effect.

I got 8 Super V's loaded in two Randall Lynchbox 4x12's.....
Not sure how the speakers sound in another cab.....but they sound better then any other cab I have played thru or had out in my Jam room. Really nice thick crushing tone out of these cabs.
