Do I need an Uberschall Twin Jet?

I'm considering trading a PRS Custom 22 (2001, 10 top) that I acquired in a trade... for a 2010 Uberschall Twin Jet

I currently have a new version Friedman BE100, and a Mark V. I have a Friedman Dirty Shirley as well, but I have it up for sale locally in Toronto area (it's one of the early prototype from around NAMM 2010... no labelling on the controls etc.)

Yeah.. I know I don't NEED the Uber. But if you were in my situation... is the Uber going to give me something different than the BE and Mark? (I'll be running it through a Mesa 2x12 rectifier with V30s.)

Personally I think everyone who likes the Uberschall vibe/voicing needs one because there is nothing else like it.

My twin jet arrived yesterday. Its my second TJ, and 3rd or 4th uberschall over all....none of the other amps that I've owned can cop the Uberschall vibe/voicing.
The TJ/Uber could never be my only amp...but it definitely is worthy of having if you dig its aggressive, pissed off, grunting, growl, and attitude.

Do you NEED it? Why not!!!

One of my favorite tones ever was a stereo rig with my XTC Classic and a TJ. It was BIG. It was girthy. It was MEATY. It was heavenly...

I read a review once that said the Uber was like oloring with all black crayons and I have to agree! Do it! I love mine. I agree with Reza - its a really fun to play amp.

I love the tone just don't love the 150 watts .I so wish RB had released that Solo Jet 70 a few years back . I loved the tone in the Hi gain shootout

I remember that video. Dont know why that amp got scrubbed either
But @ 150 watts, with volume/gain on each channel and a Global Master, the Tee Jay is controllable

I loved my TJ, it had a great tone for metal, especially through a front loaded 412 with V30's. I don't get the 150w complaint thing, that amp has a great master volume. It sounds better than most at doing well at low volume.

If it had a true clean channel I would have bought one a long time ago. Great amp.

Boy.....Do I stand corrected. I did some research on the TJ cleans and it really cleans up nicely. I have not looked at clips in years hence my last post on this thread.

Love the clean channel on this amp.

BUY A TJ!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't read all the posts - but in my humble opinion, everyone should own or at least experience a TwinJet at least once in their lives.

They're fkn nuts.

Hint: EQ by ear, not eye.

Peace,
Mo

Do it. This amp is a monster. Very easy to play and record, loud as FUCK. Brutal with surprisingly nice cleans. You won't regret it!

I've never played a TJ, but I know I couldn't live without my Uberschall. It just has a sound presence that no other amp I've ever heard/played can attain.

Everyone needs an Uberschall of some flavor. I have a REV. blue and damn does it kick ass. Some think they are a one trick pony and I would have to say that is not the case at all. Buy one.

I would recommend giving it a shot. As long as you feel like you're getting a good deal, you can get out of it with minimal pain if necessary.

I played a Dual Rec for ten years before auditioning a Rev Green. It was the first amp that I heard and wanted besides my Dual Rec. Now, I still have the Dual Rec, but I use it to fill in the tones between the Uber's very clean channel and very aggressive hot channel. I've had the Rev Green since 2004, and its not going anywhere anytime soon.

I haven't heard a Twin Jet in person, but guys really seem to dig them as well. Good luck, and let us know what you find out!
